Chapter 113 - The Eight Locations

He showed Dael the eight locations the following morning.

Not coordinates — the between-space quality of each location as the Observer had conveyed it, the specific character of the between-space gradient pulling most strongly toward return in each place. Not geographic description but between-space description. The feeling of each location's pull.

Dael received this and sat with it for a long time.

Then opened the pattern documentation and the territorial maps and the accumulated field data from six months of work and began cross-referencing.

The process took the full morning.

Kael left Dael to it and went to the oversight board's Tuesday session — which was running regardless of Observer contact, because the oversight board ran on Tuesdays, and that was more important than any specific extraordinary event.
