Hael worked through the night.
Not alone — Nara gave him the list at nine in the evening, two hours after the five-hundred-meter test, sitting at the clinic table with the Framework Memory still warm from the range extension and the specific focus of someone who had been waiting twenty-two years to do useful work and was not going to stop because it was late.
The list was forty-seven pages.
Two hundred and twelve names. Addresses. Suppression type. Duration. The System's honest record of each one — when the monitoring began, what triggered it, what the Church's file classification said versus what the node data actually showed.
Hael read the first page and then set it down and sat quietly for a moment.
