Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: I Promise to Help You Do Three Things!

Marvel Zombies, I Am Only Antidote

The moment Leo tapped the summon button, a faint glow flashed and Onyxia appeared in front of him.

Leo's eyes went wide.

The woman standing there had skin like polished ivory—pale, luminous, almost glowing under the moonlight. Long, glossy black hair spilled over her shoulders in soft waves, a few loose curls brushing the side of her slender neck. Sharp brows, piercing eyes, a straight nose, and full crimson lips formed a face so stunning Leo actually forgot to breathe for a second.

She wore a sleek red-and-black velvet gown that hugged her tall, hourglass figure. Tilting her head toward the sky, she whispered to herself.

"It's here… I knew it."

"What's here?" Leo asked, following her gaze.

He stared up at the night sky but saw only stars.

"The magic tide!" Onyxia raised one slender, porcelain-white arm and pointed. "Look—there!"

Leo finally spotted it: a distant red comet trailing a faint fiery tail across the darkness.

"That's… the red comet?" he breathed, stunned.

"Yes!" Onyxia clenched her fists, eyes blazing with excitement. "I thought this world was magically dead. It felt suffocating. But now I understand—the magic doesn't come from the planet itself. It comes from that."

She stared at the comet like it was a long-lost lover.

"It has its own orbit. Every time it draws close, it triggers a magical resonance and the world floods with power. When it moves away, magic dies and the world slips into a long drought. Over and over."

"I remember you said dragons once existed here but went extinct over a century ago. We are creatures of magic. In a low-magic or no-magic world we suffocate. But a hundred years isn't long enough for our entire species to vanish. When the tide returns, dragons will rise again on this world."

She was trembling with pure exhilaration.

Leo's mind was spinning.

In the show, the red comet appeared right before Daenerys hatched her three dragons. That wasn't supposed to happen for another four years.

Had his arrival already changed the timeline?

He glanced at Onyxia again, still stunned by how beautiful she looked in human form, and noticed how worked up she was.

"You seem… really happy about this," he said.

Onyxia snapped out of it. Her expression iced over instantly, the usual haughty mask sliding back into place.

"Hmph. Of course a mere mortal wouldn't understand." She looked down her nose at him. "Imagine being thrown into deep water. What happens?"

"I'd drown."

"Exactly." Her voice was cold. "I told you—we dragons are magical beings. In a low-magic world we suffocate, we suffer, we die. The return of the tide means this world will finally suit me again. Like a drowning man crawling back onto dry land."

Leo nodded. That explained her excitement.

"Then… do you want to stay out here from now on?" he asked carefully. "I won't treat you like a mount or anything—"

"Shut your mouth, you filthy human!" Onyxia snarled, suddenly furious. Her whole body went rigid like an angry cat.

"I will never forget what you did to me. Over and over you invaded my lair, cut off my head, and hung it in Stormwind Square like a trophy! That shame is burned into me forever!"

"If it weren't for this cursed force binding us together, I would tear you apart right now!"

Her voice dripped with pure hatred, though the noise from the distant feast covered it.

Leo raised his hands quickly. "I'm sorry. You already know it was just a game—"

"That makes it worse!" she snapped. "I am not some toy for your entertainment!"

She took a shaky breath, forcing herself under control.

"But… I will make you a deal. I will help you with three things. In return, you will never lock me back in that empty void again. And after I complete those three tasks, you will release me completely—free to go where I wish."

"If you refuse, I would rather stay trapped in darkness or watch you die and become one of those walking corpses you call White Walkers. At least I'll have the satisfaction of seeing you go first."

Leo hadn't expected her hatred to run that deep.

Still… three favors from the Black Dragon Princess was a hell of a start.

He thought it over for only a second, then nodded firmly.

"Deal. I accept."

Onyxia stared at him, her beautiful face unreadable in the moonlight. For the first time since they'd been pulled into this world together, the tension between them shifted—just a little.
