My eyes darkened, seeing the way she stared at Ryker, so I pulled him closer, and she looked away.
"Let them stay, don't trouble them," she said, and the entire tribe went silent.
But then a man groaned. "But he killed a master!" he yelled and turned to glare at Ryker. "He should be punished," he demanded, and she took a heavy breath.
The Tribe Chief glared at the male. "Everyone dies in battle. Not everyone survives, so shut your lips," she said darkly and walked off.
No one dared argue after that, and then Liora pushed through the crowd as they began to scatter away.
"What happened?" she asked, taking hold of my hand, but my gaze was settled on the tribe chief's back.
"Who is she?" Liora asked, and my lips parted absentmindedly.
"Ryker's ex-master."
Her eyes widened in realization. "He has a master apart from you?" she asked, and my eyes darkened.
