The phone's ring broke the silence and woke Sienna. Still, her eyelids felt heavy, as if something weighed them down. It took her a few moments to open her eyes. She stirred beneath the blanket, her head still aching slightly as she reached toward the nightstand. Her hand searched for her phone until she finally found it.
She answered without hesitation when she saw Zachary's name on the screen.
"Honey, have you arrived?" she asked, her voice still thick with sleep.
There was a brief silence on the other end before Zachary's familiar voice came through. "Yes, I just arrived at the hotel. Did I wake you up?"
"Mm-hmm." Sienna rubbed her eyes as she slowly sat up against the headboard. "After you left, I felt tired and sleepy, and I didn't even realize I'd drifted off."
"I'm sorry I tired you out this morning, my love."
