There was a brief pause on the other end.
Zachary's heartbeat gradually quickened as countless possibilities and scenarios ran through his mind.
Had his mother questioned Sienna?
Had she mistaken Sienna for someone else?
None of those possibilities or scenarios sat well with him.
"Mother, did you talk to Sienna?" Zachary asked. The worry in his voice was impossible to hide.
He knew Sienna well enough to believe she wouldn't deliberately create trouble, especially when meeting his parents for the first time. If anything had gone wrong, there had to be a misunderstanding.
"I did, and it's not a pleasant conversation..." Hannah didn't finish her sentence, leaving Zachary even more worried.
Zachary gritted his teeth, already picturing what had happened. Then his thoughts immediately drifted to Skylar. "How's Sky?" he asked before Hannah could answer. "Is he alright?"
