Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: ALPHA SECRET

I couldn't breathe.

The Luna's words echoed in my mind over and over again.

Powerful bloodline.

Hunted.

Not who I thought I was.

"This is insane…" I whispered, stepping back.

"It's the truth," Luna Mira said gently.

"Then why didn't anyone tell me?" I asked, my voice rising.

"Because the less you knew, the safer you were."

I shook my head, trying to process everything.

"And Damon… he knows all this?"

"Yes."

Anger flared inside me.

"So instead of explaining, he humiliated me in front of everyone?"

Her expression softened.

"He rejected you to protect you."

I let out a bitter laugh.

"That's not protection. That's cruelty."

But deep down… something didn't add up.

If he truly didn't care…

Why did his eyes hesitate for a split second before rejecting me?

Why did I feel that the bond wasn't completely broken?

"I need to talk to him," I said firmly.

Luna Mira hesitated.

"That's dangerous."

"I don't care."

Before she could stop me, I turned and ran.

The guards tried to block me, but I pushed past them.

I needed answers.

Now.

I found him in the training grounds, shirtless, his body glistening with sweat as he fought another wolf.

Powerful.

Dominant.

Untouchable.

The moment he saw me, he froze.

"Leave us," he ordered.

The other wolf immediately stepped back and disappeared.

Silence fell between us.

"Why?" I demanded.

His jaw tightened.

"You shouldn't be here."

"I asked you WHY!" I shouted.

"Why did you reject me?!"

His eyes darkened.

"Because it was necessary."

"That's not an answer!"

I stepped closer, my heart racing.

"I know the truth."

That got his attention.

His gaze sharpened.

"What truth?"

"That I'm not who I think I am."

Silence.

Heavy.

Dangerous.

"And that you rejected me to protect me."

For a moment… something flickered in his eyes.

Pain.

But it disappeared just as quickly.

"You should have stayed ignorant," he said coldly.

"Too late for that," I replied.

I stepped even closer, close enough to feel the heat radiating from his body.

"The bond isn't fully broken," I whispered.

His breath hitched slightly.

"I can still feel you."

His fists clenched.

"Stop."

"Then tell me the truth."

He looked away, struggling.

Then finally—

"They're coming for you."

My heart dropped.

"Who?"

His voice turned deadly.

"The ones who wiped out your bloodline."

A chill ran down my spine.

"And when they find you…"

He stepped closer, his eyes locking onto mine.

"They won't just kill you."

His voice dropped to a whisper.

"They'll destroy everything you love."
