Chapter 15 - The End

I wish I'd have kept you close . . . If I wasn't so afraid because I already knew the ending . . . If I would have valued your very existence for a second more . . . If I had stretched my hand out. Maybe I wouldn't have this regret, this eternal darkness.

My hand stretches around you, cradling your cold form, my brother, my life. How I loved and adored you, even when you upset me. Now all that is left is to kill the light. The universe, your creation is so vast. The lights, the stars, the colors swirl against the dark.

I don't want to do this, but this is it—the end! The birds who croaked their last song . . . The flowers that wilted and fell to the ground, devoid of color . . . Life when you closed your eyes. I have never been so alone, so alone. I am scared of this eternity of darkness.

Please life, please life. I do not mind your bugging. I do not mind being forced to harvest, but please, my brother, do not leave me in this constant silence—this constant void! There is nothing left, and soon my eyes will see the darkness.

Death stretched out his hand to the cooling corpse of his brother once more. He then pulled back and fell to the ground. Tears leaked from his hollow eyes. The red center seemed brighter.

I'm terrified! I'm alone, big brother. I'm sorry, but if you could, would you please laugh, spring up greenery, torment me, please.

It's funny the things you miss. The things that irritate. I cannot bring myself to forgive myself. These hollow eyes and these tears! Who gave me such a cruel fate?
