Chapter 37 - Shigaraki and Nomu vs Mephisto p.2

Kaisel immediately forced Shigaraki and Kurogiri to retreat from the terrified Midoriya and Asui, and at the foot of the mountain zone, the true embodiment of brutality was unleashed.

Nomu wasn't waiting. The thing knew no fear, no fatigue, no hesitation. A second after Agrona materialized from my shadow, a terrifying crack rang through the air. Nomu shot forward with such speed that he left behind only a shockwave that scattered rocks for ten meters.

"My lord, beware!" Agron's voice thundered.

Agrona stretched both hands forward and instantly activated his asura magic, and a metal object rolled out of the ground with a metallic crunch.wall of massive black thornsinterwovenby black, putrid firewhich was supposed to stop the flying monster.

Nomu's fist slammed into the spikes with full force, and the sound that followed was like two trains colliding. The black spike cracked under the pressure, the ground beneath Agron's feet sank a good half meter, and a curtain of black smoke and energy shot out from the focus of the blast.

Agron was forced to take two steps back, his boots tearing the concrete from the floor as he absorbed the wave of raw power. Nomu immediately broke through the rest of the black spikes and reached out with his other hand to crush Agron's head, but that was my moment.

I lunged at Noma from the side. I pumped all the remaining energy from my core into my right hand. My forearm armor glowed wildly, the plates began to melt into liquid light under the pressure of the energy, and dense red lightning concentrated into a single point on my fist.

It was a blow with enough force to level an entire building. I aimed squarely at Nomu's exposed, pulsating brain.

BOOOOOOM!

My blow hit the target with absolute precision. The explosion of my etheric energy created a giant pillar of light that tore a hole in the roof of the USJ. The shock wave tore the surrounding trees out of the rescue zones. But as the light faded a little, my heart stopped for a moment.

Nomu stood. My fist was still buried deep in his tissue just below his brain, but his body simply swallowed the shock. Shock absorption was working on an absolute basis. What was worse, the skin that I had burned to coals with the force of the lightning began to sprout again in a flash before my eyes. Muscle fibers intertwined with incredible speed.

Super-regeneration.

"That... that's not possible," I blurted out, a little blood leaking from my mouth again as the recoil of my own blow traveled through the cracked crystalline armor back into my body.

Nomu turned his dull face towards me, and his giant hand suddenly grabbed one of my hands. He jerked it with brutal, raw force.

GROUP!

A sharp pain shot through my body as the creature nearly tore my arm from my body. Then he threw me to the ground with such force that I broke through the concrete and ended up deep in the crater. Before he could finish me off, Agrona recovered from the pressure. He waved his hands and materializedwhips of pure dark fire, which wrapped themselves around Nomu's right arm like fiery snakes. With a brutal jerk and a hiss of destructive mana, it literally burned and tore off his entire arm at the elbow.

Black blood spattered onto the ground, but Nomu didn't even groan. Before the severed limb even hit the ground, new bone and muscle had grown from its stump. Within a split second, his arm was completely back.

"My lord, this being has no soul or limits!" Agrona roared as he began to spill around him.tHe used a heavy mental aura to paralyze the creature's primitive nervous system for at least a second as he stood in front of my lying body. "Our attacks only feed it! If we don't destroy its core in one fell swoop, it will tire us to death!"

I was breathing heavily in the crater, my armor completely cracked across my chest and shoulders, red lines flashing wildly on and off. My core was drained. For the first time since I had entered this world, I felt a real, crippling helplessness. I was fighting against a weapon that was designed to kill anyone who came into its path.

Meanwhile, in the central square, Kaisel was valiantly carrying out his task. He was grabbing Kurogiri's mist with his giant mouth and keeping Shigaraki at a safe distance from Midoriya and the others with powerful tail blows. But Shigaraki was becoming increasingly deranged.

"What are these shadows?! Where did that bastard come from?! This is not fair play! He's cheating!" Shigaraki screamed, savagely tearing at his neck to the raw flesh as he dodged another stream of black fire from Kaisel. "Kurogiri! Forget the kids! Help Nomu kill that horned bastard! His shadows must disappear!"

Kurogiri immediately began to writhe and move towards the mountain zone where Agrona and I had been fighting our losing battle. Nomu, fueled by his complete immunity to Agrona's mental pressure, unleashed a force from his fists that shattered another wave of black mana chains that Agrona had thrown at him. The pressure of the destruction hit the shadow general so hard that his body first began to lose its integrity and dissolve into smoke, then materialized again and became whole.

I rose to my knees. I looked at Kurogiri approaching and Nomu, who was about to deliver the final blow to Agron and me.

At that moment, however, the main entrance door to USJ shattered into a thousand pieces with a deafening bang.

The air pressure that cut through the entire USJ immediately stopped all movement. In the thick cloud of smoke at the entrance, a giant, muscular silhouette loomed, radiating such an incredible aura that even Nomu turned his head back to the entrance for the first time.

The smile on his face was missing this time. There was only pure, unadulterated anger.

"You don't have to worry anymore..." thundered a voice that made all the students' blood rush back to their veins. "...because I'm here!"

All Might has finally arrived.
