Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 – The Road of Dawn. The Plain

The valley healed slowly. Smoke cleared, fences rose again, and laughter returned in fragments. Kasim walked among the people, carrying stones, patching roofs, sharing bread. Yet the shard at his side pulsed faintly, restless, as if urging him onward.

One morning, he stood at the edge of the valley. Beyond lay a wide plain, horizon stretching endless, sky burning gold. He whispered, "Lumora stands. The world waits."

The Journey

He crossed rivers, rebuilt bridges, carried water to thirsty travelers. Each step was weight, each breath memory. Farmers offered him bread, wanderers sang of his deeds, children followed him for a time before running back to their homes.

The shard glowed steady, not blazing, but alive with quiet strength. Kasim felt it listening, remembering.

The Encounter

On the plain, he met a wanderer cloaked in dust. The man's eyes were sharp, his voice calm.

"You carry light," he said. "But light alone cannot heal."

Kasim nodded. "Then I will carry hands too."

The wanderer smiled faintly. "Hands build more than crowns." He vanished into the horizon, leaving Kasim with the shard's glow.

The Dawn

At dawn, Kasim reached a hill. He stood at its peak, cloak torn, boots worn, shard glowing against the rising sun. The sky burned gold, rivers shone silver, villages dotted the land.

He raised the shard. "Lumora stands. The world waits. I will walk until the light is enough."

The shard flared, brighter than before, casting light across the plain. For a moment, the world seemed alive with memory and hope.
