Ficool

Chapter 0: Prologue

Stirring awake in my bed, I stared directly at the ceiling, wondering if I should go back to sleep or make breakfast. I chose the latter, feeling my stomach growl a little.

Getting up, I performed some stretches and made my way to the bathroom. Living in a rundown apartment, my only parent was overseas as the other died of cancer a couple of years ago. Looking at the grime and dust that have accumulated on every surface, I reminded myself to clean the house after I get back from my lessons.

Turning the faucet on, I stared at the mirror and saw my messy brown hair and black eyes. Technically, your irises cannot be black, as they are just a deeper shade of brown. However, I like to delude myself into thinking I am special sometimes.

Sporting an appearance that could be seen as average by social norms, I was by no means ugly. Cupping some water with my hands and splashing it on my face, I felt refreshed. I began making my way into the kitchen, turned on the stove, and started cooking.

Placing oil into the pan and waiting for it to heat up a little, I grabbed my phone and turned on the news. "Good morning citizens of Metropolis. Today will be an exceptional day as temperatures reach 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius). Expect clear skies and mild winds."

Seeing the oil look hot, I cracked open two eggs and made a small platter of scrambled eggs. Wolfing it down, I placed the dirty dishes in the sink and changed my clothes. A white t-shirt with a funny-looking cat and black shorts.

Putting on my backpack and sneakers, I patted my pockets to make sure I had everything and opened the entrance door.
