[Wake up!]
The voice in my head remained muffled, until that point.
I slowly regained consciousness.
My headache along with the voice, vanished.
Everything felt confusing, but I remembered this room instantly when I saw the portrait of my father on the wall.
"What am I doing in his office?"
The last thing I remembered was falling down the stairs, so how did I get here.
I needed to get out of here. As I sat up ready to leave, I could my body stiff, and my muscles aching. It felt like I had overslept for too long.
The only way I could prove it, was by asking whoever was in close proximity.
By the time I opened the door, my eyes landed on a masked figure who stood above a man lying on the ground from a distance. I looked closer and came a terrifying discovery.
My father... He was lying on the ground... He was covered in blood.
The figure that stood above him, made me powerless. I didn't know what to do.
Then, while I was thinking, they left.
I quickly scrambled to my father's side, the moment I sure about my safety.
"Dad!" I shouted.
I wasn't sure if he was still alive, because as I got closer, I noticed a hole in his chest, massive blood loss, and more wounds.
He turned his head to face me, when I was close. I was glad.
"Son."
His voice sounded weak, quickly fading.
"No don't talk. I'll go find help."
"Take care of your siblings."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I understood what he meant. He knew he wasn't going to make it.
"Who did this to you?" I said.
He looked at me with a faint smile.
"Go with Carl."
"Please tell me who it was dad!"
I didn't know what I was going to do to them, but I just needed to know. Before he could answer, I felt him go limp in my arms.
"No."
He was dead.
I kept living in denial, as I continously shook his body.
"Please, please wake up. Please..."
I repeated over and over again, hoping that he would miraculously wake up. He wasn't responding. I quickly burst into tears as I helded onto his lifeless body.
[Tyler.]
The voice was back, clearer.
"Get out of my head!"
It remained silent, as if it were ignoring.
Then,
Before I knew it, reality shifted.
I was back in that dark mental state, where I had been while I slept. This time there stood a purple humanoid figure with glowing eyes squatting in front of me, as if it were observing something.
"What do you want from me? Who are you?"
It vanished, reappearing as giant which held me on it's palm.
[I can help you get what you want.]
It's voice echoed through the empty space.
What did they mean by that.
[You have a desire to find the man who killed your father. I can help you.]
It didn't seem normal. Their offer was tempting. But there must have been a cache.
[I'll tell you what I want, when you get what you need.]
It's as if they could read my mind. Then it vanished again, reappearing in front of me. This time smaller, more girl-like.
"Do you accept?"
Without hesitation I nodded.
I didn't care if I was about to strike a deal with the devil, I was going to be satisfied as long as I got my revenge.
