Chapter 26 - Chapter 3 Part I

"Hey kid. What are you?"

The aggressive guy said to the boy behind me. He pointed a blade at the boy, who remained unfazed.

The bald guy instantly pulled his partner close, panicked.

"Let go of me!"

The aggressive guy barked, trying to break free of his partner's grip.

"You ignorant fool, can't you see the crest on his uniform?"

He listened to his partner and observed the boy's uniform.

I did the same.

There was a patch on the boy's left bicep. A picture of a black shield at the base, gold borderlines. A simple representation of a gold lion standing on its hind legs. Around the shield, were ornamental flourishes that looked like vines.

The aggressive man pulled back, slapping the bald guy's hand off him.

"So what if he's with the Croax. We were here first!"

The boy ignored them and turned to me.

"Boy."

His voice was low, decisive. It made me reflect on a similar emotionless tone of voice.

"I won't ask again. Who are you?"

"My name is--"

The aggressive man came closer and grabbed the boy by the collar.

"Don't ignore me kid. I'll fucking kill you."

"Harry stop. Please! That's Tony Scotts."

The aggressive man ignored his partner's warning, tightening his grip on the boy.

They remained silent for a while. I don't know why, but the boy briefly looked at the girl he came with.

Then, he kicked the aggressive guy, hard, on the stomach, sending him rolling away on the dusty ground.

The aggressive man had to hit the ground beneath him in order to stop himself from rolling away. He was angrier now. The veins on his head where about to pop.

"That does it. I'm going to kill you."

He took a squatting position, extended both of his hands. They were turning red.

I was shocked. Could it be, other people like me existed here.

Before he could do anything else, his partner pounced on him.

"You idiot! Do you want to die?"

"I don't care if he's Tony Scotts or God. I want to kill him."

Tony. His gaze turned to the girl. She stood silent observing their actions closely.

Then it shifted to those two.

"Quiet or you're fired."

It seemed he had authority over these men, because the aggressive man clicked his tongue and calmed down. His bald companion let out a sigh of relief.

Without warning, the boy came after, jumping upwards. His leg swung out and came crashing down towards me.

I used both my arms to avoid it reaching my face. It came with heavy impact, enough to make me collapse if it ever made contact. I tried pushing it back, but he kept forcing it closer.

Then, he vanished, into thin air.

I paused for a moment to search for him.

And then, from behind me, I heard something move. I quickly turned.

It was him, disappearing into thin air again. It didn't look like he was running away. So did he have some sort of disappearing trick?

Before I knew it, I felt a knee collide with my chest with abrupt force. It was him, he reappeared in front of me, but when?

An elbow strike to the back followed, causing me to cough out a liquid.

"Why?"

He pushed me back and stared.

"Fight me."

I was breathing heavy. Before I could recuperate, he pointed at me with his index and a tiny condensed ball of fire formed at the tip. It shot a ray of fire straight at me.

I rolled out of the way before it could hit me. I was already badly injured, did he plan to make me fight in this condition? For what reason?

I looked up and he was gone, again. I couldn't sustain another hit, so I thought to attack as soon as he reappeared.

I heard something rush past. It was a dagger attached to a parachute.

A distraction.

My hand moved on instinct, catching his foot before it hit my left side. He kicked my back with the other one, in order to make me release him. Then he used my back to flip.

I dug my fist into the ground for support. My breath got heavier. I didn't care about it. For some reason these people were fighting me. I got up quickly, turning to face him.

He was gone, again.

I took the time to catch my breath.

The only I find this guy, was tracking his energy when he reappeared. I focused.

A small, fragile bit of energy appeared.

Behind me.

I turned. He tricked me, there was no one there. I looked around frantically.

Nothing.

I felt the temperature increase from behind me. So I turned, to see him shooting fire out of his mouth.

"Shit."

When the ball of flame was closer, I dashed out of the way, reappearing above him, driving a punch for his head.

He caught it, quickly.

I waste time, I attempted to land a kick next. He caught my leg.

I smiled, in amusement. He didn't have any more hands.

"Surge."

I felt embarrassed when I said that. After I said it, my whole body began surging with electricity. He was going to experience a great world of pain if he kept holding onto me. The feeling of energy surge through me felt really fantastic.

Then--

I noticed that something wrong, Tony stood in front of me like a frozen statue, unaffected by the surge of electricity.

I looked at the two men from earlier. Frozen.

The girl. Frozen.

"... What's going?"

I asked myself unable to understand this abnormal phenomena.

What was going? Was there something wrong with the world?
