Sylvia's brows drew together as she looked at the hemisphere in Celia's hand, her mind already moving ahead of the moment, refusing to accept it at face value. "There has to be another way," she said, her tone firm in the way it got when something didn't sit right with her and she wasn't ready to let it sit.
Gideon nodded, folding his arms as he exhaled slowly. "That round was brutal," he said, glancing between Nova and Celia. "There's no way they'd make it completely absolute. There should be some kind of alternative, something we haven't been told yet."
Celia shook her head before he could go any further.
Her grip around the hemisphere tightened slightly, her gaze still lowered. "No," she said quietly, and the finality in her voice cut through the speculation cleanly. "We didn't make it. That's all there is to it."
