"Sasuke."

"You felt it too?" Naruto asked.

Naruto frowned. "Another Otsutsuki?"
"Not exactly," Sasuke said quietly. "Something older."
The Forgotten RuinsFar beyond the Five Great Nations, hidden beneath layers of earth and time, something awakened.
A massive structure—older than any shinobi village—began to pulse with dim, violet light. Strange markings crawled across its surface, reacting to something unseen.
Inside, a figure stirred.
Its body was incomplete, like a shadow trying to take shape. Its voice echoed without sound.
"Chakra… restored…"
Fragments of memory flickered.
War. Betrayal. Sealing.
And one name burned brighter than the rest.
"Humanity…"
The ground above cracked slightly.
"…has forgotten fear."
Back in KonohaNaruto landed lightly beside Sasuke.
"So what are we dealing with?" he asked.
Sasuke hesitated. That alone was enough to concern Naruto.
"I found records," Sasuke said. "Hidden even from the Uchiha. Something predating the Sage of Six Paths."
Naruto blinked. "That's… not possible."
"It shouldn't be," Sasuke replied. "But it is."
He pulled out a worn scroll and handed it to Naruto.
Naruto opened it, expecting diagrams or jutsu formulas.
Instead, he saw a single phrase repeated over and over:
"Do not awaken the Hollow God."
Naruto scratched his head. "That's… not helpful."
Sasuke crossed his arms. "There's more. The text describes a being that doesn't use chakra the way we do."
Naruto looked up. "What does that mean?"
"It consumes it."
A DisturbanceSuddenly, Naruto froze.
"You feel that?" he asked.
Sasuke's eye narrowed. "Yes."
A wave of chakra—no, something like chakra—rippled across the land. It wasn't natural. It felt… wrong.
Naruto clenched his fist. "That's not any tailed beast."
"No," Sasuke said. "It's something else entirely."
Without another word, both vanished.
The First EncounterDeep within a forest near the border of the Land of Earth, a small squad of shinobi stood frozen in fear.
"What… is that?" one of them whispered.
Before them stood a figure—humanoid, but distorted.
Its body flickered like unstable energy. Its eyes were empty voids, swallowing light itself.
One of the shinobi threw a kunai.
The weapon stopped mid-air.
Then it disintegrated.
"Chakra…" the entity whispered.
In an instant, it moved.
Too fast.
One shinobi collapsed, his chakra completely drained, his body left lifeless but untouched.
The others tried to flee.
They didn't get far.
Naruto and Sasuke arrived seconds too late.
Naruto dropped to his knees beside one of the fallen shinobi.
"No injuries…" he said, confused. "But—"
"His chakra is gone," Sasuke finished.
Naruto's expression hardened.
"Something's hunting."
Sasuke scanned the area. "And it's learning."
The MessageThat night, a meeting was called among the leaders of the Five Great Nations.
Naruto stood at the center, his voice steady but urgent.
"We've got a new threat."
Gaara leaned forward. "Stronger than the Otsutsuki?"
Sasuke answered instead. "Different. And possibly worse."
A silence fell over the room.
"Great," muttered the Raikage. "Just when things were finally peaceful."
Naruto clenched his fist.
"We'll handle it," he said. "We always do."
But deep down, he wasn't sure.
Because for the first time in years…
He couldn't sense his enemy.
Elsewhere…The shadowy figure stood atop a mountain, overlooking the world.
Its form had become more stable now—more human.
But its presence twisted the air around it.
"Chakra… abundant…"
It raised a hand, watching energy gather unnaturally.
"Evolution… incomplete…"
It turned its gaze toward the distant horizon.
Toward Konoha.
"…until I consume the source."
