As the title says, I'm putting The Crimson Pact on Hiatus. Why? Because 1. I feel like focusing on different fanfics for now and 2. I feel like I did or added too much. I had big events and other stuffs planned but I keep holding them off because I wanted other structures, characters or events to happen before I get to the big events. And realized that if I had done this properly, brainstormed more and didn't add so much stuffs so early, the story's pacing would've turned out better and I could've been launched the events/plots that I planned by now.
So as I see it, there are 3 paths I can choose going forward.
1st Path: I continue the story as it is even if it will take longer.
2nd Path: A complete revision of the story starting from the beginning with similar but different plots happening and future advantages coming earlier that would've made sense. Like changing the first Magic System Angelus brings out being the TES (The Elder Scrolls) instead of DnD and it'll even have some custom spells included and more elemental spells being added to the Destruction School like Earth, Wind, Light, Dark, etc. The 2nd path would also have not only the Dragonborn and Draconian conversion included at the same time, but it would also include the 3 new and final conversion options I was planning. The 3rd option being two different type of Snake people with their top half being completely Cobra-like and their bottom halves ranging from either with legs or the lower body of a snake and they would be called "Vipera Wyrmbornes". 4th conversion option would've been the Deathclaws from Fallout as their Tanks/Shock Troopers and likely only having metallic elements as their racial affinity and the final conversion being Lizardfolks similar to the Lizards from the Overlord anime where they're more aquatic based but can live just fine on land and will have a more hunched back like posture similar to the Charr form GW2. The 2nd path would also started having some of their later inventions like the Wyrm-Forged Metals, Wyrmtongues, Disciplines/Classes, Thuum/Shouts, etc. more earlier too when appropriate.
3rd Path: This would be similar to the 2nd path but as a somewhat completely new story with a new title where instead of the MC being reincarnated as Angelus, she would be reincarnated as a Gore Magala with her own Magala inspired custom evolution system, specific elements and fighting style. She would likely still end up being both a Drakengard Dragon (making her a Holy Dragon in nature like Angelus and Legna) and a Monster Hunter Dragon in some way. I'm even considering still including Angelus and Legna but with them as her lovers from the start before they ends up in a new fused world. Yes, Legna would be genderbended to female. I'm even considering on removing/replacing some of the franchises from the fused world like GoT, Witcher or LoTR. Originally, the fanfic was going to be a fused world of GoT/Witcher/LoTR/Dragon's Dogma 2/Dragon Age Origins (obviously the last one wasn't revealed at this point of the story) but now I'm considering replacing some of them. Probably maybe doing the same for the 2nd path somewhat.
So yeah, this is the reason for the Hiatus. If I go with the 2nd Path, I'm likely to be able to make the story better in some way in terms of story quality and pacing. While the 3rd Path seems very interesting for me since I love the Gore Magala and I've been wanting to make a fanfic of it but never got around to it. Either paths would be good or fine for me. But I'll eventually decide at some point in the future.
Sorry for anyone who've been reading this story so far but this is the decision I came to. But don't worry, I'm not giving up on this fanfic since I've put too much work on this to just abandon or scrap it completely. Hopefully I'll see some of y'all soon in the future for whenever this story (or a new version of it) comes back.
