Chapter 46 - Chapter 46

"This matter concerning the Soul King ends here. You may leave," Yamamoto said gruffly, raising a hand to dispel the thick, multi-layered Kido barrier surrounding his office.

Kazuma quickly stepped forward. "Wait a moment. I have something else I wish to discuss with you."

Hearing this, Yamamoto stopped and looked at Kazuma with a heavy, tired expression. "Is there another apocalyptic crisis that only the two of us can know about?"

Kazuma took a deep breath, his expression turning deathly serious.

"Yes. Captain-Commander, what are your honest thoughts on the current combat readiness of the Gotei 13?"

Yamamoto frowned slightly, leaning heavily on his cane as he pondered the question. Slowly, he replied.

"With the exception of a select few... the current Gotei 13 are entirely too weak to be of much use in a true war."

Kazuma nodded in agreement. "I've recently uncovered something that might interest you, then. And of course, it's directly related to forging the strength of the new generation."

A spark of genuine curiosity lit up Yamamoto's ancient eyes. "Oh? Let's hear it."

Kazuma stepped closer, lowering his voice. "There's a specific seated officer in the Fifth Division named Sōsuke Aizen. I wonder if you have heard of him?"

Yamamoto's brow furrowed deeper, a look of distinct confusion on his weathered face. "I am aware of him. He is considered a polite, highly talented individual. He served as a calligraphy teacher at the Shinigami Academy for a time and currently serves as the 3rd Seat of the Fifth Division. What does this mild-mannered scholar have to do with improving the combat strength of the Gotei 13?"

Kazuma let out a soft chuckle, a cunning, dangerous glint in his eyes. "What if I told you that polite scholar is actively planning a massive rebellion?"

Yamamoto's expression instantly darkened, his Spiritual Pressure spiking. "What? With his meager strength? I could crush that boy with a single hand."

Kazuma smiled faintly, shaking his head. "If I may be so bold as to ask... have you ever actually seen the release of his Shikai?"

Yamamoto stroked his beard, his frown deepening. "I have not personally witnessed his Shikai release, but I have read the reports. He often demonstrates his Zanpakutō to the Academy students to show off its localized mist-and-water abilities. It is a standard Water-type Zanpakutō."

Kazuma sighed softly, crossing his arms. "His Zanpakutō is not a Water-type. It's a terrifyingly flawless Illusion-type. The water display is a trick. The moment anyone looks at the release of his blade, they fall under his Complete Hypnosis. It controls all five senses! It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that anyone who sees it becomes a permanent puppet in his hands."

Yamamoto's gaze turned razor-sharp, the ambient temperature in the room spiking.

"If what you say is true, then he is indeed a massive, insidious threat. We need to lock him down immediately and monitor his movements to ensure he doesn't cause irreparable harm."

Kazuma held up a hand. "Furthermore, his raw strength is not at the level of a mere seated officer. I have sensed the true depth of his Spiritual Pressure. I dare say that in the current Soul Society—apart from the few of us remaining from the quincy war—there is likely no one in the Gotei 13 who can defeat him in a one-on-one fight."

"Coupled with his absolute hypnosis, it's highly possible that only you and I have the raw power to suppress him. And even then, we'd have to fight blind to ensure we aren't manipulated by his blade."

Yamamoto gripped his cane tightly, his jaw locked in fury. "Complete Hypnosis... a troublesome ability. If it weren't for the unacceptable collateral damage to the rest of the Gotei 13, I would simply incinerate the entire Fifth Division barracks right now. It's better to kill a few innocents than let a viper like that escape."

Kazuma gently shook his head. "I, for one, can use the crushing gravity of my Domain to completely isolate myself from his hypnosis. You, unfortunately, have no such countermeasure, Captain-Commander."

Yamamoto was silent for a long, furious moment before sighing heavily. "Indeed, pure fire cannot burn an illusion. But if we move against him directly, wouldn't he simply use his illusions to make the squad members slaughter each other?"

Kazuma nodded, his eyes firm and unyielding. "Yes, he would. But this is a crucible we must face. If we don't do this, my plan cannot proceed."

Yamamoto narrowed his eyes, studying Kazuma intently.

"So, what is your plan?"

Kazuma took a deep breath and said slowly, deliberately, "I want to let his rebellion happen."

Yamamoto's eyes widened in sheer outrage.

"Are you mad?! Letting him rebel and orchestrate his schemes will only make the situation vastly worse!"

Kazuma smiled faintly, remaining completely calm in the face of Yamamoto's fury.

"Although Aizen's rebellion will undoubtedly cause bloodshed, betrayal, and sacrifice within our ranks, you said it yourself: the Gotei 13 is too weak! The Soul Society has been at peace for far too long. They have grown soft, complacent, and arrogant. It's time they saw some real blood. Brutal war is the only thing that makes Shinigami grow."

Yamamoto listened quietly, his initial rage slowly cooling as a look of bitter understanding gradually appeared on his weathered face.

He closed his eyes, sighing with heavy emotion. "You're right. I'm no longer the ruthless Sword Demon I was years ago. The peace... it has made me soft as well."

Kazuma stepped forward, gently patting the ancient Captain-Commander's shoulder.

"Yamamoto, you don't need to blame yourself. You built a civilization. Now, we just need to test its foundations."

"Aren't you afraid of the situation spiraling entirely out of control and causing irreversible, catastrophic losses?" Yamamoto asked in a low, calm tone.

He knew the depths of Kazuma's strength, but facing a highly intelligent, manipulative enemy like Aizen required accounting for the worst-case scenario.

Kazuma smiled confidently. "Yamamoto, you should trust my judgment. While Aizen is indeed a terrifying enemy, both you and I have more than enough power to crush him if he steps out of line."

After a long, heavy silence, Yamamoto nodded slowly. "Very well. I give you full, unquestioned authority over this shadow operation. But you must swear to minimize the casualties among the Gotei 13 as much as possible."

Kazuma bowed deeply, grateful for the old man's absolute trust.

"Thank you, Captain-Commander. I will do my utmost to manage Aizen's twisted game, but... some sacrifices will be entirely unavoidable."

Kazuma straightened up, adding one final condition.

"Also, please promise me one thing. No matter what Aizen does in the coming years, please don't act rashly or draw your blade. I need you to conserve your strength and remain in the background to deal with any truly apocalyptic, unexpected situations. Just trust in my abilities to handle the snake."

Yamamoto gave Kazuma a deep, calculating look before nodding slowly. "Fine. I promise you this. However, if the situation truly becomes uncontrollable and threatens the destruction of the Seireitei, I will not hesitate to reduce everything to ash! Protecting the Soul Society is my ultimate responsibility."

Joy filled Kazuma's heart, and he quickly bowed again.

"Thank you for your understanding and support, Captain-Commander! I will certainly live up to your expectations."

...

Meanwhile, across the Seireitei in the Fifth Division barracks, Sōsuke Aizen was mingling politely with his squad members, offering a warm, gentle smile to a passing recruit.

Suddenly, a chill ran directly down his spine, making the usually unflappable scholar shiver involuntarily.

'Strange... the weather is perfectly mild today. Why do I suddenly feel as if I am standing on the edge of a blade?' Aizen muttered internally, his eyes narrowing slightly behind his thick glasses.

However, the brilliant mastermind had absolutely no idea that Kazuma had just casually exposed his entire background to the Captain-Commander.

His centuries of meticulously crafted conspiracies, his flawless illusions, and his ultimate, hidden ambitions were all thoroughly laid bare.

Aizen originally believed his grand plan was entirely flawless, capable of effortlessly deceiving the entire Gotei 13.

He never could have expected that the notoriously lazy Captain of the Seventh Division was a transmigrator who possessed metaknowledge of his entire life story, backed by overwhelming, godly power.

In a matter of minutes, all of Aizen's deepest secrets had been exposed, leaving him entirely metaphorically naked.

But Aizen didn't realize he was already playing a rigged game.

He still firmly believed he was the only one holding the strings, determined to achieve his ultimate goal: to artificially surpass the boundaries of Shinigami and Hollow, ascend to godhood, and forcefully replace the Soul King to rule the cosmos.

Kazuma was willing to tolerate some of Aizen's minor, bloody antics and small-scale betrayals to forge the next generation of Shinigami.

But if Aizen ever actually crossed Kazuma's bottom line, he would not hesitate for a single second to chop the arrogant dude into a quadruple-amputee and personally toss him onto the crystal throne to replace the current Soul King.

That way, the miserable, mutilated entity currently holding the universe together could finally be liberated, and Aizen would get his wish to sit on the throne—for eternity.

At this thought, a cold, vicious smile curled the corners of Kazuma's lips as he stepped out of the First Division barracks.

He felt exceptionally cheerful, a feeling of total control he hadn't experienced in centuries.

He took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air as if the whole world had suddenly become beautiful. The afternoon sunlight shone down on him, warm and incredibly comfortable.

At this moment, his heart was filled with confidence and eager anticipation.

"The sky over the Soul Society really is so blue today!" Kazuma hummed a little, off-key tune as he strolled toward the 8th Division.

Shunsui had invited him for a drink, after all, and he definitely had something to celebrate!
