Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Proud Of You

[Trying again, you found that Uchiha Itachi was truly blinded by his own delusions and was completely impervious to reason. Thus, this time you decided to side with the Clan Head, Uchiha Fugaku, early on, revealing the information that Uchiha Itachi was a double agent in hopes that he would make preparations in advance.]

[Konoha, Year 52]

Uchiha Clan Grounds.

"The person from the Sky Screen finally made the right choice this time!"

Tetsuka slapped his thigh, a delighted smile appearing on his face.

Inabi nodded repeatedly: "Exactly! Whether running away or siding with Itachi, neither is reliable! Only Fugaku-sama can save the Uchiha!"

"Right, right! Fugaku-sama is our Clan Head. As long as he knows in advance that Itachi is a traitor, he'll definitely be able to respond!"

"Hahaha! We'll definitely survive this time! No matter how strong Itachi becomes in the future, can he really defeat Fugaku-sama?"

The Uchiha present were all beaming with joy, as if they had already seen a future where they successfully survived the night of the massacre.

With this choice from the Sky Screen, they would definitely survive!

Fugaku stood at the front of the crowd, listening to his clansmen's discussions, a slight smile tugging at his lips.

He cleared his throat, placed his hands behind his back, tilted his chin up slightly, and let out a couple of soft hums. Clearly, he also deeply approved of this choice shown on the Sky Screen.

As the Clan Head, he certainly had the ability to protect his clansmen. As long as he knew in advance, everything could still be saved.

Others watching across the world were also very curious—if the Uchiha clan received advance intelligence, would the outcome of the coup d'état be different?

[Unfortunately, as an ordinary Uchiha, the difference in status between you and Uchiha Itachi in Uchiha Fugaku's heart is like sky and earth. Uchiha Fugaku is confident that, under his long-term education, Uchiha Itachi would never commit any act of betrayal against the clan; moreover, he was the one who arranged for Uchiha Itachi to serve as a spy in the ANBU in the first place.]

[Therefore, after receiving your information, Uchiha Fugaku merely summoned Uchiha Itachi for questioning. After being easily fooled, he dropped the matter. Sensing something was wrong, Uchiha Itachi turned around and reported the information to Shimura Danzō. Danzō immediately became alert and decided to strike early. He promptly tricked Uchiha Shisui, and after obtaining his Mangekyō Sharingan, the massacre occurred. You were killed by Uchiha Itachi. Escape failed!]

On the Uchiha clan grounds, the smiles that had just appeared on everyone's faces instantly froze.

"What…" Tetsuka murmured, his eyes filled with disbelief. "Fugaku-sama… didn't believe it?"

Inabi's face turned pale: "He got fooled by Itachi? And then Itachi turns around and reports to Danzō?!"

"Isn't that just handing our intelligence straight to the enemy?!"

Everyone's gaze shifted back to Fugaku. This time, it was no longer filled with expectation and trust, but rather… complicated. Very complicated.

The corner of Fugaku's mouth twitched, and his hands behind his back involuntarily clenched. The Sky Screen was slapping him in the face!

"Ahem." He coughed lightly, trying to maintain his dignity as Clan Head. "This is just one possibility shown by the Sky Screen. It doesn't necessarily mean it will happen…"

But before he could finish, he was interrupted by the following scene.

The image on the Sky Screen shifted, seeming to show another fragment from the night of the massacre.

The moonlight was red as blood, spilling onto the streets of the Uchiha clan grounds.

The first to appear was none other than Uchiha Itachi, drenched in blood. He stood in the middle of the street, his face covered in red, blood still dripping from the sword in his hand.

Although the Sky Screen didn't say whose blood it was, how could the watching Uchiha clan members not guess… it was their own.

"Father will be my strongest enemy, probably even a battle between two pairs of Mangekyō."

Itachi's voice rang out from the Sky Screen—cold and resolute.

The Young Uchiha Madara looked at the Sky Screen and actually let out a sigh. Although a battle between two pairs of Mangekyō was extremely rare, the scene of father and son slaughtering each other was far from pleasant.

The scene on the Sky Screen continued:

Itachi, with a few leaps under the blood-red moon, arrived in the courtyard of a large, traditional Japanese-style house. The courtyard was deep and silent, the moonlight reflecting off the roof tiles with a cold, clear glow.

Sasuke instantly recognized it—this was his home before the night of the massacre. Back then, his father was still the head of the Uchiha clan, and he was still living a life of comfort and happiness.

"Father... Mother..." Sasuke muttered, his eyes already beginning to redden.

Meanwhile, in another timeline, some of the more observant Uchiha noticed something wrong.

The courtyard was far too quiet.

As the Clan Head's residence, where were the clansmen who served as guards and managed the household affairs? Why had no one come out to stop him?

Combined with the sight of Itachi drenched in blood, a grim suspicion arose in their hearts.

What about the Clan Head?

What was Uchiha Fugaku doing?

Surely... he couldn't have been sleeping so soundly that he didn't hear anything?

Soon, their confusion was resolved.

Itachi stood outside a door, using his peripheral vision to observe the inside. The room was dimly lit, with two figures vaguely sitting inside.

Then, a voice familiar to Itachi spoke.

"Itachi, there are no traps. Come in."

As Itachi cautiously entered the room, he saw that the two figures were indeed his father, Uchiha Fugaku, and his mother, Uchiha Mikoto.

[Konoha, Year 60]

Tears were already streaming down Sasuke's face. He gritted his teeth hard, refusing to make a sound, but the tears flowed like a broken dam, impossible to stop.

On the Sky Screen, Itachi walked behind the two of them. His voice carried a slight hesitation, but he still spoke.

"Father..."

Fugaku didn't turn around, simply lowering his head. "I do not wish to engage in a mutual slaughter with my own son."

Responding to him was only the soft sound of Itachi raising his blade. The blade glinted with a chilling light under the moon.

Fugaku seemed unfazed. "I see. So you've sided with them?"

Sensing Itachi's inner conflict, Mikoto also spoke to comfort him.

"We understand, Itachi."

Fugaku, still facing away, continued entrusting his final words. "Itachi, promise me this last thing. Take care of Sasuke."

"Compared to you, our pain will only last a moment. Even if our paths differ, I am still proud of you... You truly are a kind child."

In response—

Two sounds of a blade cutting through flesh rang out.

Squelch—

Squelch—

The screen froze there.

The blood moon still hung high, and the courtyard remained deep and silent.

Only those two kneeling figures had fallen forever.

---

Sasuke could no longer hold back.

"Father—! Mother—!!"

He collapsed to his knees, his heart-wrenching cries echoing across the entire training ground.

His pitch-black eyes instantly turned blood-red. Through his tears, a second tomoe clearly emerged.

Two-Tomoe Sharingan, awakened!

Naruto rushed over and pulled him into a hug:

"Sasuke! Sasuke!"

Sasuke trembled violently in his arms. Sakura also threw herself toward them, and the three held tightly onto one another.
