Sandersonia's visit to India
When Hancock was visiting Wakanda, Sandersonia visited India. She had Logan with her as her bodyguard along with a lot of butler maids and her personal security forces. Along with them the chief of foreign affairs and a few other diplomats were also with Sandersonia.
After her coronation, Sandersonia had never visited India in person, even though she was there before during her childhood a couple of times.
Since it was the first diplomatic visit of Sandersonia as the leader of Amazon Lily, there were some grand preparations done by Amazon Lily to show their status. The most luxurious and technology advanced ship of Amazon Lily was sailing towards the western coast of India.
"Mr Aves, I just finished reading this report on the political mess of the United States of India. This is a watered down version isn't it. Tell me the ground reality. I might find some use during negotiations." Sandersonia ordered the diplomat from Amazon Lily who was deployed in India and was there for 20 years before returning to Amazon Lilly last year.
"Princess, forgive me. But I think this subject is very broad. How do you want me to explain it exactly." Aves asked respectfully.
"Just explain to me the political situation of The United States of India. Exactly how stable this country is. After reading the report I don't think we should put all our hopes on this country to be our production partner. For me it looks extremely unstable. Yes it is rich and it has a lot of influence in Asia now that China is almost getting drowned in a never ending conflict… but is this wise for us to invest so much on such an unstable country ?"
"Oh, I understand your doubt, Princess. Indeed, it is a very concerning matter if we consider this from a pure view of materialistic profit.
But if I have to tell you the truth then I will have to begin from the very beginning, so that you can understand the root cause of this instability.
There were many reasons why India could not deal with the problem in north east India on its own and was requesting the assistance of Amazon Lily. And to understand those, Princess, you have to understand the current political situation of India and its recent history since 1890." Aves paused for a moment before he started speaking.
"In 1890, the United States of India declared itself a democratic country, like the United States of America. Theoretically it should have solved the main problem of India at that moment which was "internal division". The local kings and rulers wanted to keep their power. And the civilians wanted their rights. But considering the number difference between these two parties was too much, in the end the proposition of turning the United States of India into a democratic country was supported overwhelmingly.
With democracy the shift of power should have happened and the majority of the power should have gone to the hands of common citizens instead of local Kings. But that didn't happen. Instead massive reform of States was demanded by people who wanted their unique Identity. I know it sounds bizarre and a total waste of effort. For us who don't even follow any religion, or don't have a particular culture, development of our country becomes our main driving force. But for Indians, these things are meaningless.
At first religion became a target of people to demand division of States. But it would have created too much violence. And leading figures at that moment realized that early on.
So they diverted the attention of the people towards language. That's how the original India which was divided into 941 smaller States was United into 14 major states. Punjab, Sindhu, Baloch, Gujarat, Maratha, Drabid, Utkal, Bangal, Bindhya, Himachal, Gange, Madhya-pradesh, Patliputra, Kamarupa, these became the new divided States.
For the first 5 years, this division actually helped in stabilizing India.
But then new political parties started emerging like the National Congress. They did not just want to influence one or two States. They wanted to influence the entire nation. Previously while different political parties allied with each other to select their prime minister, equivalent to president in the United States of America, now, a single party wanted the entire cake.
And to achieve that they started exploiting their powers in the states they have won and started making new rules within their power that will give the state a unique Identity of their own. Slowly they started dividing people over language to earn more votes.
Since everyone wanted something, their division and conquer worked exactly like before. Over the last 15 years, the political landscape of India has become extremely unstable. It is now actually very common to see violence over languages. The situation is so bad that even using the Army of the country is putting too much political pressure on the current prime minister Dadabhai Naroji. That's why they can't deal with the problem in Kamarupa, the state of the North East region.
It is not just the 10 rings. The local politicians were also funding armed militants to disrupt the government. Obviously we have already talked with India. They had promised that even if we use force, they will not raise an international issue. Obviously our gold deal will also be held where they will have to sell us the gold at a discounted price." Aves explained the entire situation in one breath.
"This sounds ridiculous and stupid. I had heard from the Queen mother that people in India are extremely wise. I guess she only meant a small group of people. How in the world can they be dumb enough to fall for such a childish trick ? Division based on language? Seriously, it sounds ridiculous. Does none of them understand that at the end of the day all of them are homo sapiens ?" Sandersonia exhaled sharply.
Sandersonia had visited India a couple of times with Hancock during her childhood. Back then the place seemed nice and unique. Especially their food. But now when everything has turned political, the country doesn't seem nice anymore.
In fact it sounds like a nightmare. Sandersonia could never imagine such a scenario happening in Amazon Lily.
"I understand your frustration, Princess. The reason they are fighting among themselves must sound stupid to you. And it will sound stupid to any other normal Amazonian. All of us are individuals that only care about ourselves and our country which is providing us with every luxury we are experiencing at the moment. Our thought process is almost the same. It is the country's duty to us and our duties to our country.
But the same cannot be said for every other country out there. Just look at Germany and Britain right now. Or any other European Nation for that matter.
Their war seemed very pointless to us. But for us, it is a great opportunity to earn a lot of profit. And we are exactly doing that.
The Empress believed that exactly due to this situation, Amazon Lily could get whatever it wanted from India much more easily compared to any other country. Because they are too busy fighting among themselves, they don't have any strength left to negotiate with us properly. If we want some minerals, then we just have to contact and feed some money to the local political leader and we can get everything we want pretty easily. Even if their government wants to interfere, they won't be able to. This entire thing about saving Kamarupa will only bring a profit.
Their fight is only profiting us.
As per 10 rings, they are considered a threat even to our own country. So dealing with them in this scenario brings us only profit." Aves told Sandersonia.
