Two days later, Ensley had largely recovered from his injuries, though he spent most of his time confined to his grand chambers.
After swallowing his medicine, he set the empty glass on the side table just as a soft knock sounded at the door. He looked up to find Gideon standing in the doorway and motioned for him to enter.
"Thank you for saving my life," Ensley said quietly as his brother stepped inside. "I have been wanting to see you, but you were nowhere to be found in the main palace, and I could not bring myself to visit your residence."
"I understand," Gideon replied, pulling out the recliner near the foot of the bed and sitting down, while Ensley remained leaning back against his pillows. "Without your help, none of it would have been possible. You gave me the moonstone."
