Adeline and Gideon stepped out of the car, their eyes fixed on the house where Millie was hiding. The surrounding residents had already been evacuated, leaving only a perimeter of elite warriors stationed around the area.
Micah and Tiger took their positions beside them.
"Shall I go ahead?" Micah asked, his hand resting near his blade.
"No," Gideon said, raising a hand to stop him. "The building is shrouded in a magical barrier. I can feel it."
"They must be aware of our presence," Tiger stated.
Suddenly, the front door of the house opened and Morticia stepped outside. She swept her gaze across the open courtyard, sensing the invisible ring of warriors surrounding the perimeter.
"Prince Gideon, you should have come alone," Morticia called out. "Bringing a force will accomplish nothing."
