Morticia had a troubled expression on her face ever since she studied the soil sample. She was unable to understand how to explain this ominous feeling to Gideon, who was already on his way to see her.
"Madam, you have been like this since yesterday. Is everything alright?" her young assistant asked, looking at her with concern.
"Yes, everything is fine," Morticia replied, trying to mask her unease. "Just inform me once Prince Gideon arrives."
The assistant nodded and walked out of the high priestess' personal room.
Moments later, she returned to inform her of Prince Gideon and his mate's arrival.
"Allow them in," Morticia said. As the assistant went to fetch them, Morticia knit her brows in confusion. 'Why did he bring his mate along?' she thought and rose to her feet. She headed to the living room where the two were already waiting.
Seeing her enter, they both stood up and greeted her respectfully.
