"I was scared that all of you would demand I stop even thinking of choosing a beta as my lifelong mate," Edith replied, her voice cracking. "Viktor is a beta warrior. He is not picking up my calls today. Last night, Brother Gideon saved his life from Mom's men. Just once, I want to know if he is doing well."
Hearing her heavy sobs, Ensley felt terrible, a sharp pang of protective frustration hitting him. "Stop crying and drink some water," he asserted firmly but gently. "I will ask Micah to locate him immediately and then inform you of his condition."
