Gideon stepped out of his car and walked directly toward the residence of the high priestess, marking his very first visit to her domain. Upon entering, a maid politely requested that he take a seat in the sitting area. Moments later, Morticia emerged from her prayer room.
The two exchanged formal greetings before settling onto the sofas opposite one another.
"To what do I owe the honor of a sudden visit from the prince?" Morticia asked, adjusting her robes. "This is quite unprecedented." She then signaled the maid to bring a glass of water for her guest.
"Because the matter I am about to discuss with you is exceptionally grave," Gideon stated, his expression serious. "You are the only person in this kingdom I trust to handle it."
Morticia studied his face, sensing the heavy weight of whatever was bothering him.
