"Where are you going?" asked Edith, stopping her sister as she crossed the hallway.
"To meet Adeline," Vivian replied simply.
"Seriously, Viv? Didn't I tell you to stay away from that woman? What is wrong with you?" Edith snapped, her voice sharp with annoyance.
"Your Highness," Evander's voice interrupted from behind them. The two sisters turned to look as the guard bowed. "Prince Gideon has instructed me to escort you to his private residence."
"Sure. Let's go," Vivian answered. She glanced at Edith one last time without saying another word, then turned and left with Evander.
"What is wrong with her?" Edith muttered to herself.
Before she could dwell on it, a servant's voice interrupted her thoughts, urging her to hurry before the Luna Queen grew upset. She nodded tensely and made her way toward the Queen's chambers. Upon entering, she was surprised to find an unfamiliar woman sitting and conversing comfortably with her mother.
