Once the rain stopped, Gideon and Adeline stepped out to see Caelum. He was studying a map spread across a wooden table when he heard footsteps approaching from behind.
"Alpha, Prince Gideon wanted to see you," a member of his pack informed him, bowing slightly before stepping away.
Caelum turned around, his gaze moving between the two of them. "Please come this way," he said politely, gesturing toward a large wooden gazebo built near the edge of his house.
They walked over to the shelter. As soon as they stepped inside, Gideon broke the silence. "I couldn't thank you enough for saving my life," he began.
"It was a pleasure to be of help to you, Prince Gideon," Caelum answered smoothly. "And as I expected, you weren't truly affected by the fountain's water."
"Yes. But how do you know a history that I am completely unaware of?" Gideon questioned, his tone sharp with demand.
