"Your Majesty, I did as you said," Catalina spoke from the other side of the device, her voice carrying a nervous edge. "The sentinels are, however, afraid of questioning Adeline. She is protected by Prince Gideon, and no one wants to be the one to summon her to the pack for interrogation."
Presley sat with one leg crossed over the other, leaning back into her velvet armchair as she listened to Catalina's report. Her expression remained unreadable, though a cold smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.
"Your Majesty, will my husband's murderer truly be found? And the promise you made regarding the aid... will it be fulfilled?" Catalina asked, her tone shifting to one of polite desperation. "I am not asking for it right away, but my daughter needs to start her business, and she is in need of good capital."
