"What are you doing outside? How long have you been sitting here?" Gideon demanded, his eyes scanning her for any sign of distress.
"Just a few minutes," Adeline replied, her tone slightly flustered as she stood up. "The view from here is nice, so I thought I'd sit for a moment."
"I see. Let's go inside." He reached out, his hand quickly finding hers, and led her back into the warmth of the villa.
"How did the meeting go? It seems the Alpha Prince and his Beta have quite the workload," Adeline said, attempting a lighter tone. "Since I was free the entire day, I made donuts. I'll go get them from the kitchen." She gently pulled her hand from his grip and disappeared toward the back of the house.
Micah watched her go, leaning slightly toward Gideon. "She seems better than yesterday," he remarked.
"She is troubled," Gideon murmured, his gaze fixed where she had vanished. "I'll be back soon."
