Chapter 111 - Huo Yuhao: Something's happened!

Bei Bei stood to the side, watching the lively girl beside him, feeling somewhat helpless in his heart.

In Bei Bei's eyes, Tang Ya was naturally perfect in every way.

But he had to admit that sometimes Tang Ya truly spoke without thinking.

He leaned in close to Tang Ya's ear, lowering his voice to remind her: "He's wearing the school uniform, so naturally he's already joined Shrek Academy."

Tang Ya was taken aback by his words, only then glancing at the clothes Huo Yuhao was wearing.

She blinked sheepishly, not particularly embarrassed about it either.

Seeing this, Bei Bei could only shake his head helplessly before turning to look at Huo Yuhao, a gentle smile appearing on his face.

"Little brother Yuhao, I never thought we'd actually meet again at Shrek."

Huo Yuhao stood up, a smile also appearing on his handsome face.

"Senior Bei Bei, Senior Tang Ya, it's been a long time."

Tang Ya looked at him, her lively eyes blinking, and blurted out: "Little brother Yuhao, are you interested in joining the Tang Sect now?"

Hearing this, Bei Bei couldn't help but facepalm.

Here we go again.

Over the years, Tang Ya had become almost fanatical in her quest to revive the Tang Sect.

Whenever she met someone she deemed worthy, her first reaction was to invite them to join the Tang Sect.

The problem was, the Tang Sect was no longer the Tang Sect of old.

The once-great Sect now consisted only of her and him.

Huo Yuhao was just about to speak when, unexpectedly, Wang Dong, sitting across from him, suddenly stood up.

"The Tang Sect?!"His voice carried a mix of surprise, excitement, and a complex emotion even he couldn't quite name.

Tang Ya turned her head to look, her gaze falling on Wang Dong, and her eyes instantly lit up.

What a pretty little boy!

Wang Dong himself didn't know what was happening.

Merely hearing a name caused his heart to feel as if struck by something, stirring up an indescribable surge of excitement.

That feeling was as if something engraved in his very bones had been abruptly awakened.

Seeing his reaction, the smile on Tang Ya's face grew even brighter: "That's right! The former number one Sect on the continent—the Tang Sect!"

She paused, tilting her head to look at Wang Dong, her eyes sparkling with anticipation:

"Little brother, do you want to join our Tang Sect?"

"Sure! I've long heard the Tang Sect's Hidden Weapons are amazing. I'll join!"

Wang Dong's words came out in a rush, crisp and decisive without a hint of hesitation.

Tang Ya was stunned by his reply.

She had merely asked out of instinct, never expecting Wang Dong to agree so directly.

"Huh?"

Tang Ya blinked, a flash of confusion crossing her lively face before being replaced by wild joy.

She jumped up in excitement, her voice rising several pitches: "Great! Wonderful! Welcome to the Tang Sect!"

"Counting you, our Tang Sect now has three people!"

Tang Ya remained excited for a good while before suddenly turning her head, her eyes filled with anticipation as she looked at Huo Yuhao.

Huo Yuhao met those bright, sparkling eyes but slowly shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Senior Tang Ya, I still have no intention of joining any Sect."

The anticipation in Tang Ya's eyes dimmed for a moment, but she quickly smiled again and waved her hand: "Alright, alright, no pressure!"

She glanced at Wang Dong beside her, an irrepressible smile surfacing on her face again: "I'm already thrilled to have recruited this little brother!"

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Bei Bei and Tang Ya bid their farewells and left.

Coincidentally, the grilled meat skewers were ready and brought over, filling the simple little table in front of them.

Wang Dong grabbed a skewer, took a big bite, and while chewing, asked indistinctly:

"Mmm... Yuhao, why didn't you join the Tang Sect?"

"Even if the Tang Sect is weak now, its secret techniques are still very powerful."

Huo Yuhao naturally knew about the Tang Sect's secret techniques; he had personally experienced them Ten Thousand Years later.

However, for him, they truly weren't of much use anymore.

He had read those historical records about himself; in the later stages, those Tang Sect techniques no longer provided any significant boost to his combat power.

Moreover... he had already decided that in a few years he would start establishing the Spirit Pagoda in this World Ten Thousand Years in the past, so he naturally wouldn't focus his mind on the Tang Sect.

These thoughts circled in Huo Yuhao's mind before he said: "You'll understand later."

Hearing this, Wang Dong glared at him fiercely.

His mouth was still full of un-swallowed roasted meat, his cheeks bulging, yet he managed to pout his lips and mumble indistinctly:

"Hmph! You're like this again! Being all mysterious!"

He looked exactly like a puffed-up pufferfish.

Seeing his expression, Huo Yuhao couldn't help but laugh out loud....The meal of roasted meat left both of them with greasy mouths.

Wang Dong patted his slightly bulging belly contentedly before following Huo Yuhao along the academy's broad main road, leisurely walking back towards the dormitory.

Dusk was approaching.

A fiery red sunset hung on the horizon, dyeing the scattered clouds in varying shades of crimson.

Bathed in this last ray of sunlight, Shrek Academy seemed draped in a layer of golden gauze.

The ancient buildings, the old trees lining the path... all were coated in a warm halo, serene and peaceful.

Since personally witnessing Huo Yuhao's strength, Wang Dong had completely shed his former laziness.

These past few days, he had seized every night to cultivation his soul power, not daring to slack off in the slightest.

Though he wouldn't say it out loud, that competitive spirit in his heart had been thoroughly ignited.

As their feet stepped onto the bluestone slabs of Shrek Square, Huo Yuhao suddenly stopped.

Wang Dong also halted, turning to look at him with a hint of confusion in his eyes:

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

Huo Yuhao didn't answer immediately. He stood there, his gaze directed towards the distant Sea God Lake, his brow slightly furrowed.

With his current spiritual power, even without using Spiritual Detection, his perception far surpassed that of ordinary people.

And at this moment, on that calm lake surface, he distinctly sensed a trace of unusual fluctuation."Seems like something's happened."

Hearing this, Wang Dong's eyes instead lit up.

Deep down, this guy had a streak of enjoying watching the drama unfold.

Now, hearing "something's happened," instead of feeling any tension, he eagerly leaned forward: "Shall we go take a look?"

Huo Yuhao pondered for a moment before nodding.

Without another word, his figure swayed as he swiftly dashed eastward.

Wang Dong followed closely behind. Two figures raced through the afterglow of the sunset, vanishing in the blink of an eye at the edge of the square.

The sunset's afterglow spilled onto Sea God Lake, dyeing the entire lake surface into a flowing golden-red.

Suddenly...A red figure came speeding from the distance, skimming over the lake surface at an astonishing speed.

It was a woman. Her fiery red long hair danced wildly in the wind, and it seemed as if tangible flames were rising around her body.

The flames displayed a strange dark red, so red it was almost black, emitting a heart-palpitating high temperature.

Wherever she passed, the lake water below was vaporized into wisps of white steam by the terrifying heat, sizzling and leaving a long white trail on the lake surface that lingered for a long time.

In just a few breaths, that red figure had already crossed the entire Sea God Lake, landing on the small path by the shore.

It was dinnertime, so there weren't many people by the lake.

And not far from this red figure, two people happened to be standing.

They were two young girls. Both had long blue hair, identical cute and delicate little faces that looked quite adorable, with curved eyebrows and eyes, carrying a hint of childishness.

They were new students of the Outer Court's first-year class seven, a pair of twin sisters, Lan Luoluo and Lan Susu.

At that moment, they were admiring the scenery of Sea God Lake, never expecting such a sudden change.

That red figure abruptly appeared not far from them, surrounded by a terrifying temperature.

Even from a considerable distance, that scorching aura rushed towards their faces, as if trying to dry them out.

Lan Luoluo and Lan Susu simultaneously looked up at that figure.

With just one glance, the color drained from their faces.

The sisters reacted extremely quickly. Without any hesitation, they turned and ran towards the distance.

They ran with all their might, their steps swift, but that red figure was even faster.

Almost in the blink of an eye, the figure had crossed several dozen zhang, rushing right in front of them.

A palm rose high, slamming down towards them fiercely.

That palm was burning with strange red flames.

Before it even fell, that scorching aura had already rushed towards their faces, as if about to swallow them whole.

There was no escape.

This thought flashed through the minds of both sisters simultaneously.

The two abruptly turned around and tightly embraced each other.

That wasn't helplessly waiting for death in a desperate situation.

That was the innate tacit agreement between twins, the final counterattack in the face of desperate situation.
