I was left in shock for quite some time.
It took me a while to understand what Zahid had said and after that, to comprehend the weight of his remark.
“The Holy City…?”
I asked, staring at him blankly at him as I started to comprehend everything.
I was so shocked that no thoughts came to my mind. I hadn’t ever really been able to keep up with what was going on inside Zahid’s head, but even in moments like this, I couldn’t help but be taken aback.
I wanted to ask him if he was crazy but held back. There was no point in actually saying it since he probably already knew that was what I was thinking.
Instead, I opted to ask something else that I wanted to know.
“Why are you going after them?”
“I don’t like them.”
“…”
His answer put me at a loss for words.
It was a very decent reason to invade the Holy City… by Zahid’s standards. To normal people, however, it would sound appalling.
I had no idea what to say so I asked him to explain more.
