Afterward, I found myself sandwiched between Carlisle on my left and Joshua on my right until the time came to part ways with Carlisle. As a result, my hands remained occupied throughout the entire duration.
‘Next time, I might as well ask Josh to stay back alone in the mansion. After all, he's not really alone if I think about it.’
"See you next time, Lili," Carlisle said, waving his hand in a slow farewell. But it was evident that his gaze was fixed on the hand that Joshua was holding.
‘Look at my face when you say goodbye, you brat.’
I cleared my throat and made Carlisle focus on me.
"Thanks again today, Carlisle!"
"For what?"
"Be quiet, Josh."
‘You’ll be the death of me.’
I quickly placed my hand over Joshua's mouth to prevent any further comments. Carlisle wore the same gentle smile that Aiden always had as he observed both of us.
‘Like I’ll ever bring Joshua back to the palace again. Even for his sake, I’m never going to do that.’
