"We're just acquaintances. They showed up today without my approval as they always do, so I attempted to send them promptly away."

I glanced at the nobles, who seemed to have overheard our conversation and were wearing dismayed expressions.

While it was amusing and satisfying, I didn't hide the broad smile on my face intentionally. Seeing this, the nobles turned red with rage.
