(Keifer's POV)
We Were sitting on the couch her head in my lap scrolling through her phone
percy was on the bean bag. half sleeping half sitting and aries was on the chair near the couch
suddenly something happened
her phone which she was holding fall from her grip
right on her face all of them saw
i slowly pick it up
but i was not able to contemplate laugh either. and she saw me smiling
and i just knew this will not end easy
She went quiet for a second.
Too quiet.
Then she stood up.
Fast.
Angry.
"Jay—" I started.
She didn't listen.
She turned and walked straight toward the staircase.
Steps quick.
Too quick.
"Slow," I said, already getting up.
She ignored me.
Percy leaned back. "This is going to end badly."
She reached the stairs and started going up.
Still fast.
Still stubborn.
I followed a step behind.
Not too close.
Just enough.
"Jay," I said again, calmer this time.
"I said I'm fine," she replied.
Without turning.
Of course.
She kept walking.
Slower now—but only slightly.
She reached the top and stopped.
Turned just enough to look at me.
"Don't come in the room till I'm asleep," she said.
A pause.
"I don't want any noise from you all."
Her tone—
still angry.
But softer.
Almost… cute.
Percy snorted behind me.
I didn't react.
Because I was still looking at her.
She didn't wait for an answer.
Just turned and walked inside.
Door closing behind her.
Silence.
I exhaled slowly.
Running a hand through my hair.
"She's dramatic," Percy said.
"She's hurt," I replied.
Aries looked at me.
"You're still going in."
Not a question.
I glanced at the door.
"…yeah," I said quietly.
Because no matter what she said—
I wasn't staying out.
She went quiet for a second.
Too quiet.
Then she stood up.
Fast.
Angry.

"You're still going in."
Not a question.
I glanced at the door.
"…yeah," I said quietly.
Because no matter what she said—
I wasn't staying out.
The door stayed closed for less than two minutes.
I stood outside for a second.
Listening.
Nothing.
No movement.
No sound.
Of course she wanted silence.
I opened the door anyway.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Inside—
she was already in bed.
Lying on her side.
Back facing me.
Still.
Too still.
Not asleep.
I closed the door quietly behind me.
Didn't turn the lights on.
Just walked toward her.
Each step slow.
Measured.
"You're not asleep," I said softly.
No response.
I stopped beside the bed.
Watched her for a second.
"You breathe differently when you are," I added.
A small pause.
Then—
"…I told you not to come," she muttered.
There it was.
I almost smiled.
"I heard," I said.
"Then why are you here?"
Still facing away.
Still stubborn.
"Because you said not to."
A pause.
"…that doesn't make sense."
"It does to me."
Silence again.
I sat down on the edge of the bed.
Careful not to shake it too much.
She didn't move.
But I knew she was awake.
"Did it hurt?" I asked quietly.
"No."
Too fast.
"Jay."
"I said no."
I let out a slow breath.
"You don't have to prove anything," I said.
"I'm not proving anything."
"You are."
She went quiet again.
Then shifted slightly.
Not turning—just adjusting.
I noticed it immediately.
The way her hand rested near her stomach again.
"Come here," I said softly.
"No."
"Don't argue."
"I'm not arguing."
"You are."
Another pause.
Then—
slowly—
she turned.
Just enough to look at me.
Her expression—
still annoyed.
Still holding onto it.
"…you laughed," she said.
I exhaled quietly.
"I tried not to."
"You did."
"I failed."
She looked away again.
"It hurt," she added after a second.
Not the fall.
Not the movement.
The moment.
I leaned slightly closer.
"Come here," I said again.
Softer this time.
She hesitated.
Then slowly moved toward me.
Carefully.
I helped without making it obvious.
One hand steady at her back.
Guiding—not pulling.
She settled beside me.
Closer this time.
I adjusted instantly.
Making sure nothing pressed where it shouldn't.
My hand came up to her hair.
Brushing it back gently.
"You're not fine," I murmured.
"…I know," she said quietly.
That was enough.
I leaned in slightly.
Pressed a soft kiss to her forehead.
Slow.
Careful.
She didn't pull away.
Instead—
she leaned into me.
Her head resting against my chest this time.
I wrapped my arm around her.
Loose.
Protective.
Not holding tight.
Just enough.
"You're still not allowed to laugh like that," I said quietly.
"…it was funny."
"It wasn't."
"It was."
I almost smiled again.
"Sleep," I said softly.
"I will."
But she didn't move.
Just stayed there.
Close.
Warm.
Safe.
After a moment—
I tilted her chin slightly.
Slow.
Giving her time.
Her eyes met mine.
Tired.
Soft.
I leaned in.
Paused for a second.
Then kissed her.
Gentle.
Slow.
Careful enough not to take anything from her.
She responded quietly.
Not strong.
Not rushed.
Just there.
When I pulled back—
I didn't go far.
"Still angry?" I murmured.
"…a little."
"Good."
She frowned slightly.
"Means you'll listen next time," I added.
"…no."
Of course.
I let out a quiet breath.
Then pulled her slightly closer.
She didn't resist.
Her head settled back against my chest.
Her breathing slowly evening out.
And this time—
I didn't move at all.
Because right now—
this was enough.
