Miyuki stood by herself at the bottom of the mountain.
There was no place for her to go. The cliff behind her was too high to climb. The bad guy was standing in front of her blocking her way to the forest.
The bad guy started walking towards her one step at a time. He seemed sure of himself like he knew she could not get away. He was smiling in a way as he got closer to her.
Miyuki took a step back another one. Soon she was up against the cold rock wall. The rough stone was pressing against her shoulders. She had no place to go.
The bad guy saw this. Started laughing quietly. "That's it " he said with a smile. "You have no place to run."
He took another step closer to her. Reached out his hand.. Just as he was about to touch her Miyuki disappeared.
The bad guy stopped moving his hand in the air where Miyuki had been standing. "What...?" he said, looking surprised.
He looked around trying to find her. He checked the ground, the trees and the cliff wall. She was nowhere to be found.
The bad guy. Walked closer to the rock wall. He put his hand on the stone pushing hard to see if there was a passage.. The rock was solid.
He looked around again his eyes getting smaller with confusion and anger. There was no sign of Miyuki
The human girl had completely vanished.
Meanwhile the other bad guys were still looking for Haruto in the forest. They had lost him earlier. They were too scared to stop. They remembered what their leader had said. If they did not kill the boy they would be the ones who died.
So they kept moving but they were not together anymore. They had spread out through the forest with gaps between them.
One of the guys slowed down and looked over his shoulder. He thought he had heard something. Before he could say anything he froze.
The guy who had been walking behind him was gone.
The bad guy. Looked around. "Hey?" he said quietly. He was about to call out when Haruto appeared in front of him.
The guys eyes got big with surprise and before he could even scream Haruto moved quickly and quietly. The bad guy fell to the ground without making a sound.
Ahead another bad guy looked back. Two people were missing now. He did not think much of it. "They probably went else to look " he said to himself. "If they come back empty-handed the boss will kill them anyway."
So he kept walking. One by one the bad guys kept disappearing. First two, then three five of them were gone. Four bad guys were left together.
After walking for a while one of them finally noticed something was wrong. "Wait... Where are the others?" he asked, looking behind them.
Another bad guy shrugged. "They probably went in a direction to find the boy."
The third bad guy nodded. "That might be better anyway. If we split up we can look faster. If anyone finds him just. We will all come."
The others thought about it for a moment. "Fine " one of them said. "Lets meet here again after half an hour."
They all agreed, then separated, each walking in a direction.
Time passed and after a hours one of the bad guys returned to the meeting spot.. The others were not there.
He. Looked around. "Hey!" he shouted. "Where are you guys?". No one answered.
The forest was quiet. The bad guy felt a strange feeling in his chest. Fear. Every step he took felt heavy. The sounds of the forest seemed louder and scarier than before.
All he could hear was his footsteps so he stopped walking. Slowly he looked around. "Is someone " he called nervously. There was no answer.
Then he heard a faint sound coming from the bushes. The bad guy quickly turned towards it. "Who's there?" he shouted. "Come out. I'll kill you!" His voice was shaking.
"Guys... Is that you?" he added nervously. "Stop messing. This isn't funny... It's scary enough being alone in this forest."
He carefully walked towards the bushes. Pushed the tall grass aside but there was no one there.
The bad guy slowly stepped back into the space between the tall trees. Then a drop of something fell onto his head. He. Touched it with his hand and when he looked at his fingers they were covered in blood.
His body. Slowly he raised his head and looked up. His eyes got big, with horror and a second later he collapsed to the ground. His head rolled to the side. The forest was quiet once again.
