Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

The world used to be normal.

That's what the old history books say, anyway. They talk about a time when humanity only had to worry about humanity. A time when the dark was just the absence of light, and the things that bumped in the night were just the wind.

But all of that ended in the year 1025.

Without warning, the world fractured. Spirits bled into our reality, scattering across the globe in a matter of days. They weren't just ghosts or mindless echoes of the dead. They were powerful, highly intelligent entities, each possessing entirely different, terrifying abilities.

Some could manipulate the physical elements. Some could warp the human mind. Others could simply erase you from existence.

To this day, no one actually knows how or why they came here.

Scientists have their theories. Cults have their religions. But the truth remains entirely hidden.

There is, however, one legend. A single, persistent myth that survives in the darkest corners of the occult underground.

They say the spirits didn't just wander into our world by accident. They say they were led.

By a single, absolute ruler. The Lord of the Spirits.

A being known only as Jason.

Most people treat that name like a ghost story. A myth used to scare children into behaving.

But I know the truth.

My name is Symen.

I am a paranormal expert. I don't hunt standard ghosts, and I don't deal in fake parlor tricks. I track down the things that regular people pretend don't exist. I investigate the impossible, the violent, and the forbidden.

It's a dangerous life. Most who choose this profession end up dead, insane, or worse.

But I didn't choose this life.

It chose me.

When I was a child, I was marked. Cursed by the very entity the world believes is just a myth. Jason.

He made it personal. And because of him, my grandfather—the greatest hunter to ever live—gave his own life to save mine.

Now, I carry his legacy. I carry his techniques, his legendary papers, and a blood debt that can only end one way.

The world thinks it has adapted to the spirits. People live their mundane lives, ignoring the shadows, hoping they won't be noticed by the things lurking just out of sight.

But the shadows are growing. Something massive is shifting in the dark.

And I'm the one who has to stop it.

This isn't just a story about surviving in a broken world.

This is the story of how I hunt a god..
