Chapter 2 - failure

Me : *I tried to strangle the pain but couldn't, because of the magnetic skill* grwah

The situation inside the cave turned very chaotic. After incapacitating Tobi, you shoot at high speed towards Pain. Your hands are outstretched, trying to grab the neck of the figure who is considered a god.

"Grwah!"

However, before your fingers had a chance to touch his black robe, an invisible but very massive pressure hit you.

Confrontation with the God

"Shinra Tensei!"

Pain's voice was flat, yet its power was absolute. You felt as if the entire atmosphere in the room was pushing you forcibly backwards. Your body bounced into the air, being thrown towards the hard cave wall causing a huge crack.

You try to get up, but Pain raises her hand again. This time, an incredible force of pull pulls your body back towards her forcibly—Bansho Ten'in. You float helplessly through the air, dragged towards Pain's ready palm with a black iron (Kuroi Jushinki) sticking out of her sleeve.

Other Members' Reactions

Konan has prepared thousands of pieces of paper that form a spear around you, ready to execute you if Pain gives you the order.

Hidan laughed out loud at your innocence. "Hahaha! This new kid is absolutely crazy! He tried to attack the Gods!"

Itachi Uchiha remained silent, but his position shifted slightly. His eyes kept alternating looking at you and Tobi who was still lying with a shattered face. He seemed to be calculating the risk of the mess you were making.

Tensions Peak

Pain stops its pull when your face is only a few inches away from its black iron. His water-ripple (Rinnegan) eyes are staring directly into your eyes.

"You have incredible physical strength, Zak. But you're lacking in terms of pain," Pain said coldly. "Attacking a leader is treason. Give me one reason why I shouldn't have you here right now."

At the same time, you are reminded of Tsunade. If you die here, your secret mission fails, and you will never be able to return to it.

Me : *I said* well I gave up

You let out a heavy sigh, letting your body soften as the gravitational pull of Pain still felt pressing against your chest. The atmosphere that was hot due to the overflow of your emotions slowly cooled, although the tension still hung thick in the cave air.

"Alright... I gave up," you said in a low tone that still sounded firm.

The Leader's Reaction

Pain lowered her hand slowly. The magnetic pressure that had bound you earlier instantly disappeared, making your feet regain their footing on the cold stone floor. The black iron that almost penetrated your skin was pulled back into the cloak.

"A wise choice," said Pain. "Your strength is great, Zak, but pride will kill you before the enemy has a chance to do so. Never repeat it again, or you will know what the real suffering means."

Konan pulled back his sharp papers, making him fly back behind his back with a soft but menacing rustling sound.

Conditions of Other Members

Tobi (Obito) begins to get up slowly while holding his injured face. He no longer spoke ridiculously. His silence was far more terrible than his rambling earlier. It takes the rest of its shattered mask and looks at you with one Sharingan eye full of pure killing intent.

Hidan was disappointed. "Well... Is it just that? I thought I was going to see someone die today."

Itachi still doesn't budge from his seat, but he stares at you for a long time as if he's sending a wordless message: You've just put yourself in great danger.

Your Mind Wanders

While cleaning your cloak, your heartbeat is still racing. You realize how thin the line between life and death is in this place. Tsunade's face flashed back to your mind. You have to stay alive, you have to stay in this organization, no matter what the stakes. If you die now, the secret about Akatsuki's power will never reach his ears.

Pov : *I tried to escape from the cave by running without saying a single word*

The cave floor vibrates as your strong, athletic footsteps spur you to full speed. Without a word, you shot past the shadows of the Akatsuki members, your red cloud robes fluttering sharply in the wind generated by your speed.

The previously quiet atmosphere was suddenly broken by the quick reaction of your pursuers.

Chase in the Dark Lane

"He's running! The new kid is really a spy, un!" shouted Deidara as she tore clay from her pocket.

However, before Deidara could act, Pain raised her hand. "Don't let him take that secret of the face out of here."

You're almost at the mouth of a brightly lit cave in the distance, but obstacles start to appear:

Konan turns his body into thousands of papers that fly over your head, trying to form a barrier wall at the exit.

Zetsu appears suddenly from the stone floor in front of you, trying to catch your legs with his trap plant.

Itachi Uchiha doesn't move, but his red eyes follow you. You feel a cold sensation in your neck—is it Genjutsu or just a warning?

A Tense Escape

With your physical dexterity, you jump over Zetsu's trap and break through a small gap between the crowd of Konan papers. The sunlight starts hitting your face as you make your way out of the darkness of the cave.

Outside, the ever-drizzling wilderness of the Rainy Country welcomes you. You know, once you set foot outside, the whole Akatsuki will hunt you down. There's only one goal on your mind: Konoha. You have to get to Tsunade's arms right away and tell her that this threat is much bigger than she imagined.

Pov : *when I wanted to run again I was pulled back with a pine magnet into the cave* argh

Your hope of seeing the sunshine of the Rain Nation is instantly extinguished. Just as your feet were about to trace the ground outside the cave, an extremely strong gravity jolted your entire body backwards.

"Bansho Ten'in!"

"Argh!" you screamed in restraint as your body floated backwards through the air, dragged back into the damp darkness of the cave at a painful speed. You hit the stone floor right in the middle of the circle of Akatsuki members who are now staring at you with a much deadlier gaze than before.

The Perfect Enclosure

This time, there was no more room to talk.

Pain is standing right in front of you, her hands still outstretched. His water-rippled eyes seemed to gleam with undeniable authority. "Running away is confession, Zak. Not only did you attack the members, but you tried to bring our secrets out."

Konan immediately closed the mouth of the cave with thousands of papers that hardened like a steel wall, locking you completely inside.

Kisame stepped forward, unwrapping his bandage-wrapped Samehada. "It looks like this little fish wants to jump out of the aquarium prematurely."

Tobi (Obito), who now covered his face with the rest of his robe but still exuded a dense dark aura, stood in a dark corner. He no longer talks nonsense. His presence felt like a storm ready to explode.

Desperate Situation

You gasped, your athletic muscles tightened to the maximum from the impact. You're surrounded. On the one hand, there's Pain who controls gravity, and on the other hand, there's Itachi who may have trapped you in Genjutsu without you even realizing it.

Your mind drifted to Konoha. The shadow of Tsunade waiting for you, perhaps sipping sake in her office or worrying about your safety, is your only reason not to give up. However, inside this cave, you face ten of the most wanted ninjas in the world.

Me : "I beg your pardon"

The atmosphere inside the cave suddenly changed. A deadly silence followed your trembling speech. You, who had shown incredible physical strength and reckless courage, were now kneeling on the cold stone floor, bowing your head before the S-class assassins.

"I beg... Please forgive me," your voice echoed softly between the cave walls.

Akatsuki Members' Reactions

Your words of plea provoked mixed reactions from those around you:

Hidan laughed out loud, his laughter shrieking high to the ceiling of the cave. "Hahaha! Look at this! The big hero turned into a squeaky rat! Where's your gut just now, Zak? God Jashin doesn't like cowards!"

Kisame lowered his Samehada sword slightly, smiling condescendingly. "You broke so fast. Though I just wanted to see how much blood you can spill."

Deidara stammered annoyed, "It's really not artistic, un. You ruined this tense atmosphere with a whine."

The Decree of the "God"

Pain stood motionless. His cold eyes stared at the crown of your bowed head. His hand that was ready to release the magnetic force slowly descended to the side of his body.

"Akatsuki doesn't need a coward," Pain said in a heavy voice that shook the air. "However, we also don't just throw away useful assets. You have strength, Zak, but you don't have discipline."

He glanced at Tobi (Obito) who was still standing in the dark, observing his face that you had destroyed. Tobi didn't speak, but his aura of hatred felt piercing your skin.

Final Exam

Pain moves closer until its shadow covers your body.

"If you want forgiveness, you have to prove it. You will be placed under close surveillance. Your first task is to bring secret information from Konoha—something very valuable—to prove that your escape was just a panic, not a betrayal."

In your heart, you feel pain. Asking for forgiveness is the only way for you to stay alive to be able to see Tsunade again. But now, you are forced to betray your own beloved village for your life.
