Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Capturing Heller and Dumbledore's Teachings

"Bang, bang, bang..."

The heavy thuds were mixed with the sound of shattering stone; the mutated Elvis Heller was truly valiant.

He even managed to break through such a terrifying heavy cavalry charge, rushing into Stonehenge and heading straight for the altar.

Under Karl OLaughlin's gaze, Dumbledore used a powerful Protego to block Elvis Heller's advance.

"Crack!"

Like the sound of shattering glass, the long spear pierced the invisible magic barrier.

Although it was only for a brief moment, it was enough. Dumbledore swept his sleeve, and the plaza beneath the altar turned into a surging mudslide.

It collided with Elvis Heller, swept him dozens of meters away, and then transformed into shackles to bind him tightly.

"Principal, this won't hold him."

"Don't rush, Karl OLaughlin."

Dumbledore elegantly drew circles with his wand, and a flock of small birds flew rapidly toward Elvis Heller.

"Flock of birds?"

Karl OLaughlin was full of question marks. Even his Fiendfyre couldn't burn through that strange blood-red light; what use was this thing?

The bird-conjuring charm was actually a Transfiguration spell invented based on the Oppugno Jinx, similar to the Bat-Bogey Hex and others.

However, compared to the power of the Oppugno Jinx, the bird-conjuring charm was only suitable for Little wizards to use in fights.

"Get lost!"

Just as Karl OLaughlin was confused, Elvis Heller unleashed the power of his long spear again. The blood-red light broke through the shackles and collided head-on with the fluttering flock of birds.

The birds hit the blood-red light on his body and instantly turned into white flames, quickly turning Elvis Heller into a human torch.

"What kind of flame is this?"

Karl OLaughlin clearly felt that this white flame wasn't powerful, yet it miraculously wasn't dispersed by the blood-red light.

"Gubraithian Fire. It doesn't compare to the power and sentience of Fiendfyre, nor is it dangerous, but it has an advantage that other flames lack: it can burn forever, which is why it's called the Eternal Flame."

As Dumbledore explained this to Karl OLaughlin, he pointed his wand at the human torch and shot out a thick beam of red light.

While Elvis Heller was panicked by the Gubraithian Fire, he knocked him to the ground.

The blood-red long spear was also knocked away and landed in the distance, then was swallowed underground by the shifting stone tiles.

"Karl OLaughlin, do not only value the power of Charms; strategy in combat is equally important."

"What is powerful is that long spear, not Elvis Heller. If you cannot defeat your opponent head-on with Charms, then find a way to disarm them first."

"In fact, you could have completely defeated him; you were just too reliant on Fiendfyre, which is a wrong choice."

Dumbledore waved his hand gently, and the stone tile Elvis Heller was on acted like a small boat, carrying him toward them.

"If you want to become a dueling master, you must learn a vast number of Charms and use them flexibly in combat."

"Even if your Fiendfyre Curse has reached perfection and you can defeat most Wizards with it, relying solely on Fiendfyre is not enough."

Speaking of this, Dumbledore had a momentary lapse in focus, not knowing if he was thinking of Grindelwald.

That person's Fiendfyre Curse was unprecedented, and he was equally outstanding in other areas.

"If you encounter a Charms master like Filius, he will definitely have a way to deal with Fiendfyre."

"For example, a Transfiguration master like Minerva could even turn your Fiendfyre into another substance and use it for herself."

"And if it were a Dark Wizard like Lord Voldemort who also knows the Fiendfyre Curse, even if he cannot compare to you in controlling Fiendfyre, he would still know how to avoid its damage."

Karl OLaughlin nodded and quickly took the Principal's teachings to heart.

Not counting the Ice Crystal Phoenix form he just obtained, he indeed found it difficult to defeat top-tier Wizard experts.

Watching Karl OLaughlin's earnest expression, Dumbledore smiled gratifyingly, "However, don't be anxious, because the few people I mentioned are a tiny minority in the entire Wizard world."

"In fact, the strength you possess at your current age is already enough to defeat the vast majority of Wizards."

Karl OLaughlin chuckled, then asked with a shy look, "Principal, can you teach me the Gubraithian Fire?"

Dumbledore opened his palm, and a ball of white flame appeared out of thin air.

"Of course, but you must be mentally prepared, because this is a quite advanced magic, and learning it... eh?"

Under Dumbledore's surprised gaze, Fire Treasure and Fawkes poked their heads out from Karl OLaughlin's embrace.

"Cheep?"

Fire Treasure flew curiously in front of Dumbledore, circled the Gubraithian Fire twice, and then swallowed it in one gulp.

"Eeya!"

The warm, fuzzy feeling made Fire Treasure squint its eyes in comfort, then it raised its hand to summon a ball of Gubraithian Fire, wearing it on its head like a hat.

Then it flew back in front of Karl OLaughlin to show off, asking him for his evaluation, "Cheep?"

"It looks great! It looks so great!"

If Dumbledore weren't here, Karl OLaughlin would definitely have held Fire Treasure and kissed it a couple of times.

So this was possible too? This little guy really was his darling!

It was a pity there wasn't any Fiendfyre in school; otherwise, it wouldn't have been so much effort to learn the Fiendfyre Curse back then.

"Alright, it seems I don't need to teach you anymore," Dumbledore smiled and shook his head, "When you have time, come to my office to get a copy of my notes on practicing Gubraithian Fire, and you can practice it on your own."

"Then thank you very much!"

Karl OLaughlin happily placed Fire Treasure on his head and sent its little companion Fawkes up there as well.

In just this short amount of time, Fawkes had grown downy feathers, which felt quite good, making him unable to resist petting it a few times.

Fawkes rubbed its beak against Karl OLaughlin, then felt a bit puzzled—why had this kid become so endearing?

Especially after its own rebirth, this feeling became stronger and stronger, as if the other party was of the same kind.

Hmm... it must be because of Fire Treasure.

After all, the other party was a Fire Spirit; it wasn't a Phoenix, but it was better than a Phoenix. It must be that.

After settling the matter of the Gubraithian Fire, Karl OLaughlin turned his head to look at the lifeless Elvis Heller.

"Is Heller done for just like that?"

"Of course not. Don't forget, he is a follower of Herpo the Foul."

"You mean a Horcrux? But didn't Heller say that thing couldn't grant eternal life... Oh! I get it!"

Karl OLaughlin realized; although a Horcrux couldn't grant eternal life, making one to save one's life was still extremely effective.

Moreover, Heller, who knew the drawbacks of Horcruxes, would definitely protect his Horcrux well and wouldn't hide it everywhere like Lord Voldemort.

As long as this problem was solved, he didn't need to worry about being trapped in the Limbo after death.

Not to mention that this guy still firmly believed that the so-called Lord Herpo the Foul could grant him eternal life.

"Lord Elvis Heller, how much longer are you going to pretend?"

Facing Dumbledore's inquiry, Elvis Heller's soul emerged from the corpse amidst faint black mist.

"Do you think that defeating me is the end? Don't get cocky! Our game has only just begun!"

"You won this time! But next time, it definitely won't end like this!"

After saying his harsh words, Elvis Heller was about to leave, but unexpectedly, Stonehenge suddenly lit up with golden light, like a dome isolating everything.

"This is..."

Dumbledore blinked at Karl OLaughlin with a smile, "I just learned the sealing Charm here; I didn't expect it to come in handy right away."

Karl OLaughlin: (⊙ˍ⊙)

Huh? You've been standing here with me the whole time; when did you learn a Charm?

Is this what being a big shot is like?
