"Hahaha!"
Noelle's little gesture immediately made everyone present laugh. At this moment, the Black Bulls truly welcomed these two newcomers.
"Don't you have anything to say to me?"
Noelle blinked her large pink eyes, as if complaining that while everyone else had spoken to her, Asta alone had just stood there like a fool.
Was there anything left to say at this moment?
Asta smiled and extended his right hand, "Let's work hard together, shall we? Let's show those blockheads who the real genius is!"
"Slap!"
Noelle gripped Asta's hand firmly. She didn't say much, but as she held onto his warm, large hand, she felt a warmth in her heart.
"I look forward to working with you!"
Tears of excitement shimmered in Noelle's eyes. From today on, she would have partners to live and die with!
The following days passed very peacefully, but Asta and Noelle finally received the first mission of their careers!
"Can I finally show what I'm made of?!"
Asta couldn't help but pull out his demon-slayer sword to wipe it down, an aura of battle suddenly emerging.
"Can you not make the atmosphere so tense? Besides, this mission must be worthy of my royal status, right?"
Noelle said, looking at Yami sitting on the sofa and Magna, who was obsequiously massaging Yami's shoulders. Over these past few days, her relationship with Asta had progressed rapidly to the point where she didn't have to worry about falling out and could tease him at any time.
"Of course. This is the first mission of your lives; you must feel incredibly honored!"
Magna said with a serious expression, "Listen, your mission is to go to Soshi Village and hunt wild boars!"
"Pfft!"
Asta stumbled, his demon-slayer sword nearly falling to the ground. So, after sharpening his blade for so long, all he got was a mission where a wild boar was worth 5 points...
"Are you sure this isn't an incredibly stupid mission?"
Noelle couldn't help but pout. Her first mission as a dignified Princess wasn't fighting Mages from a neighboring country, but hunting wild boars? If word of this got out, it would really be the laughingstock of the entire royal family.
"What's stupid about this mission? When wild boars go on a rampage, they are quite terrifying!"
Magna said with a dark face.
"Forget it. I figured the first mission wouldn't be too technical. No matter how fierce wild boars are, in the end, they're just walking pork. I'll roast some for you to eat later, Noelle!"
Asta thought about it from a different perspective; occasionally going out for a picnic was one of the important ways to cultivate a relationship between a man and a woman.
"Who would want to eat your pork."
Noelle turned her head away, feeling that this mission wasn't too bad; at least she could go out and look around.
"You two really know how to go with the flow. I was originally going to explain the details of the situation, but now it seems completely unnecessary."
Yami watched Asta and Noelle while puffing on his cigarette, and finally said, "I'm very pleased to see you accepting the mission so happily. Magna, make sure you guide them well."
After saying this, Yami stood up and walked out in a cool manner. He was currently pondering how to get a Royal Flush in his next game!
"Take care, Captain Yami!"
Magna bowed respectfully at a ninety-degree angle, then turned to Asta and the others and said, "Rest assured, you two. As your senior, even without the Captain's orders, I would take special care of you, so I will accompany you on this mission."
"That's perfect. I was worried about how to get to Soshi Village, but now it's much easier. However, how are we getting there?"
Noelle asked.
"That's easy. Finding Finral will solve that right away."
Magna said this and found Finral, but was flatly refused because Finral's Spatial Magic was not omnipotent; he couldn't teleport to places he hadn't been to before, so they had to figure it out themselves.
"No choice, we'll have to fly there."
Magna said helplessly. Flying to a place as far as Soshi Village would strain his magic power.
"But I can't fly."
Noelle was the first to raise her hand.
"If you don't mind, I can carry you on my back."
Asta perfectly glossed over the fact that he couldn't fly either.
"What? What kind of monsters are you two? Isn't riding a magic broom the most basic skill?"
Magna looked at the two of them as if they were alien beings. What kind of sin had he committed to say he would look after these two idiots...
"I can't control my magic, so of course I can't ride it, idiot!"
Noelle said tsundere-ly.
"I don't have any magic power at all, so it's only natural that I can't ride, idiot!"
Asta laughed, mimicking Noelle's words.
"Copycat!"
Noelle rolled her eyes at Asta.
"Stop, stop, I'll take you there, alright!"
Seeing that he had been dragged into this unexpectedly, Magna quickly stopped Noelle and Asta's conversation, which was akin to flirting.
"Well, that's truly a bother for you!"
Noelle said, crossing her arms.
"Not at all!"
Magna said subserviently, then immediately exploded, "Damn it, why are you always acting so high and mighty!"
"I'm not acting high and mighty; it's just that you enjoy looking down on yourselves."
Noelle turned her face away and said innocently.
"That's so philosophical..."
Asta looked at Noelle speechless; that statement really was flawless!
