I stood at the bottom of the mountain just outside the main city of Euphoria, at the entrance of a hiking trail that was empty tonight.
It was hardly a mountain, more like a hill, and I wondered why I had never visited this place before.
Did I think I couldn't climb it?
I probably did.
I laughed at myself, quietly.
This was Euphoria. I didn't have to worry about running out of breath or collapsing, clutching my heart just because I walked uphill. Yet, I never dared to take this path.
I would do it today—I told myself.
