Ding!
A soft light-blue glow materialized in front of Nico Robin. After the light dissolved, a child appeared, looking at her curiously with a big smile on his face, his arms spread open.
"Welcome to the Chaos Karma Family, Nico Robin. You're the first to be chosen among many candidates. This is your newbie package—I hope you like it."
A screen materialized in front of her.
Exclusive Newbie Reward — Ohara's Lost Blessing Pack
[ DEVIL FRUIT CURSE REMOVAL — Lv. MAX ]
Effect: The curse of the sea no longer applies to your body. You may swim freely, remain unaffected by normal seawater, and continue using your Hana Hana no Mi even underwater. Seastone suppression is gone.
[ SCHOLAR MEMORY ARCHIVE — Lv. 1 ]
Effect: Your mind has been enhanced with near-perfect memory retention and accelerated information processing. Books, maps, languages, and Poneglyph symbols can be memorized instantly, while deduction and historical analysis efficiency are significantly increased.
[ SILENT BLOOM MASTERY — Lv. 1 ]
Effect: Your Devil Fruit control has been elevated by the equivalent of five additional years of mastery. Limb manifestation speed, range, precision, and multi-target control are greatly enhanced.
[ WILL OF OHARA — Lv. MAX ]
Effect: The final flame of Ohara burns eternally within your soul. Fear resistance, trauma suppression, mental stabilization, and anti-interrogation resistance are permanently increased. Your resolve strengthens when protecting forbidden knowledge.
Looking at the skills in front of her, Robin couldn't help but gasp, covering her mouth. It felt as if fate itself had finally brought her hope.
It seemed she had not been abandoned yet.
Looking at the child in front of her, she carefully reached out and touched him, feeling the warmth of his skin.
So she wasn't dreaming.
The child looked at her and pouted.
"Hey, stop being touchy, I'll sue you!"
He crossed his arms before continuing.
"Anyway, I'm your spirit guide for the system. I give you missions, you complete them, and then you'll be rewarded. So, happy cooperation?"
Hearing that it wasn't something free, Robin nodded.
If it had been free, it would have been suspicious.
Since there were missions involved, it felt more like equivalent exchange.
Kingu looked at Robin and, seeing that she understood, nodded with satisfaction.
"Alright, it's time for your first mission, Miss Robin. First, eliminate the pirates planning to exchange you for your bounty."
[ FIRST SYSTEM MISSION ]
[ SILENCE THE HUNTERS ]
Rank: F
Difficulty: Low
Recipient: Nico Robin
A nameless pirate crew of 10 members has set their sights on the bounty over your head.
Though insignificant, their greed threatens not only your safety, but also the lives of innocent civilians who may be dragged into the conflict.
This is your first step toward survival.
Objective:
Eliminate the 10 pursuing pirates and ensure no civilians are harmed during the encounter.
[ MISSION REWARD ]
100 System Points
Small Boat x1 (Capacity: 3 people)
3,000 Berries
1 Week Food Supply
[ BONUS REWARD ]
Condition: Complete the mission without sustaining major injuries.
Reward:
[ Rokushiki Foundation: Soru (Beginner) ]
Effect:
Grants the basic training method and body movement principles of Soru.
Through repeated practice, the user can learn to kick off the ground multiple times in a single instant, producing short bursts of extreme speed.
Note:
This is only the beginner foundation. True mastery depends entirely on personal training, physical growth, and combat experience.
[ MISSION FAILURE ]
System functions suspended for 24 hours
Robin looked at the mission window and couldn't help but smile.
The rewards were good, and she already needed to leave anyway.
If there was a reward for this, she might as well take it. It would also help her conceal her whereabouts.
And so, she began her plan to lure the pirates into a less crowded area.
Robin heard the pirates following her from half a street away.
She had already counted their footsteps earlier, and their voices made it easy to keep track.
They were loud and careless, too focused on her to notice where she was leading them.
Instead of running toward the busier part of town, Robin turned into one of the side roads near the storage buildings by the harbor.
Fewer people passed through there, especially this late.
If a fight happened here, no civilians would get involved.
She kept walking until she found an alley suitable enough to fight to her advantage, the area lined with stacked crates and old warehouse walls.
After making sure no one else was nearby, she finally stopped and turned around.
The pirates caught up a few seconds later.
Their captain laughed when he saw her standing still.
"What, tired already? Smart girl. Saves us the trouble."
Robin didn't answer.
A blue screen appeared in her vision.
[MISSION PROGRESS]
Pirates Eliminated: 0/10
The first pirate moved toward her with his sword raised.
Robin activated her ability.
This was the first time she was using it after receiving the newbie package, and she wanted to see whether she had become stronger.
Arms bloomed from the crate beside the pirate and grabbed his wrist, while another hand locked around his neck.
With a sharp twist, he dropped to the ground.
[MISSION PROGRESS]
Pirates Eliminated: 1/10
The others froze for a moment, then rushed her together.
Robin stepped back and used the walls and crates around them.
Arms appeared from the wood, the stone ground, and even from the pirates' backs, grabbing legs, twisting arms, and pulling them off balance.
They were physically stronger than her, but that didn't matter.
In a tight space like this, they only got in each other's way.
One by one, she took them down before they could properly surround her.
[MISSION PROGRESS]
Pirates Eliminated: 4/10
A few of them started to panic.
One tried to run back toward the street, but Robin used her fruit to grab his leg from the wall beside him and pull him down before finishing him quickly.
She glanced at the mission progress.
[MISSION PROGRESS]
Pirates Eliminated: 5/10
The remaining pirates became more cautious after that, but it was already too late.
They had followed her into a place where every wall, crate, and blind spot worked in her favor.
Robin stayed calm and continued picking them off whenever they overextended.
Some tried to rush.
Some tried to escape.
But none of them made it out.
After the last pirate fell, the system screen updated again.
[MISSION PROGRESS]
Pirates Eliminated: 10/10
Objective Complete
Civilian Casualties: 0
Bonus Condition Met
A second notification appeared right after.
[ FIRST SYSTEM MISSION COMPLETE ]

Robin looked at the final reward notification quietly and couldn't help but smile.
She really had gotten stronger.
That alone was enough.
