Prologue

Thank you for giving this book a read, love you ❤️

Long ago, in an age when the divine beings waged war for dominion over the Three Realms, the demons sought to claim the Mortal World as their own. Their relentless assaults brought suffering and despair, as the cries of mortals echoed to the heavens, beseeching the gods for salvation.

Moved by their anguish, the King of Heaven dispatched the God of War—the fiercest and most indomitable warrior of the celestial host—to descend into the mortal plane. His mission: to purge the land of the demonic scourge, shielding humanity from ruin and quelling the darkness that threatened to engulf all.

The God of War answered the call with unmatched valor. In time, the demonic forces were crushed beneath his unyielding blade, and peace, fragile yet true, settled upon the realm. Yet the King of Heaven, wary and wise, forbade the god's swift return. He commanded that the God of War remain among mortals, watching, guarding—until the shadows of the demon realm were utterly vanquished.

Years passed, and the God of War ruled as Emperor, his throne steadied by three loyal ministers: Murong Qan, Tang Xilin, and Yang Hongtao. Under their vigilance, tranquility blossomed like spring's first bloom. But fate, as ever, weaves a dark thread into the tapestry of peace.

A cunning fox demon—her beauty as bewitching as a moonlit night—slipped into the Emperor's embrace. Bewitched, the God of War yielded to a love forbidden and fraught with peril. Despite the dire warnings from Heaven's King, he clung to her like a drowning man to a fragile reed.

Yet the fox demon's heart beat for her own realm's survival. Betrayal blossomed in their union's shadow, and she struck to end the God of War's reign. But he, swift and shrewd, subdued her power and sealed her fate with death's cold hand—a victory that would haunt him to his soul's core.

Overcome by grief and remorse, the God of War chose to sever the mortal coil. But before his final breath, he tore from his spirit a fragment of divine essence and entrusted it to his most trusted general, Murong Qan. His command was clear: to bestow this sacred essence upon worthy mortals, so that their offspring might bear the divine channels, cultivating spiritual power to stand against the darkness yet to come.

And so, the God of War vowed: when the tides of war have finally ebbed, when the realms are cleansed of shadow, he shall return to find his fox demon once more—to begin anew, beyond the reach of fate's cruel designs.
