A shot grazed past his shoulder close enough to singe the fabric of his shirt, and Rohan spun toward the source, spear extended, driving the third raider back through the breached hatch with a series of controlled, forceful strikes that left the man scrambling for balance on the boarding ramp beyond.
"Behind you!" Dessa's voice cut through the noise, and Rohan pivoted just in time to catch a fourth raider's blade on the shaft of his spear, the impact jarring up through his arms with bruising force.
He didn't have the luxury of finesse against a blade at this range. He drove his forehead forward into the raider's face, felt cartilage give beneath the impact, and used the resulting stagger to reverse his spear's grip and drive the butt of it hard into the man's midsection, dropping him gasping to the deck.
