The glow faded.
But not completely.
It didn't disappear—it settled.
Into her.
Tania lay still for a moment, her breathing steady now, her body no longer aching. The warmth from before hadn't left. It just wasn't overwhelming anymore.
It felt… controlled.
Devon was still beside her, watching her closely like he was waiting for something to go wrong.
She noticed.
"I'm fine," she said, her voice calm but slightly tired.
He didn't answer immediately.
His eyes moved over her face, then paused at her eyes.
"…Your eyes."
Tania frowned slightly.
"What about them?"
"They changed."
She blinked.
Before she could ask anything else, he stood up and walked to the mirror across the room. Without a word, he tilted it slightly toward her.
"Look."
Tania sat up slowly.
Then she saw it.
Her eyes.
Blue.
Not fully glowing anymore, but definitely not normal.
She stared at herself for a few seconds.
"…Okay," she muttered. "That's new."
