Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Double Strategy

The arena's silence was deceptive.

Every participant moved cautiously, aware that a single mistake could cost them everything.

Veyrix Noctar observed from the center.

Across the field, two groups formed: one led by Drax Veylor, the other by Kalen Strix.

Both believed they controlled their allies. Both were wrong.

Veyrix approached a corner where Riven Kalt crouched, anxious.

"You need to decide quickly," Veyrix said softly.

Allies are temporary, but timing is permanent.

Riven swallowed hard.

"Wh… who should I trust?"

Veyrix's lips curved faintly.

Trust is a weapon. Use it to survive, not to be safe.

The system chimed:

MISSION 7:

Form alliances or manipulate rivals. Survival rewards strategy and betrayal.

Time: 15 minutes.

Veyrix moved subtly, whispering to Riven:

"Follow me. Observe carefully, act when ego falters. Your allies are not loyal—they never were."

Riven's eyes widened.

He understood. Fear became focus.

Meanwhile, Drax attempted to corner Kalen, unaware that Veyrix's subtle manipulations had already caused doubt to spread among his own allies.

Veyrix's strategy was simple yet brutal:

Make the rivals distrust each other

Make the allies dependent on him

Ensure that hesitation destroys ego before any strike is thrown

Minutes passed.

Chaos erupted as whispers and accusations tore groups apart.

Alliances crumbled. Ego faltered. Panic spread.

Veyrix remained calm, the eye of the storm, orchestrating every move without ever raising his hand.

Riven glanced at him, understanding the plan.

"Step back… let them destroy themselves," Veyrix murmured.

Observe. Manipulate. Survive.

The shadows of the arena grew longer.

The game was evolving.

The strongest might not win—but the cleverest would.
