Cairo's buried Array rotated nine degrees under an occupied archive.
The building stayed over its foundation. The foundation turned beneath it. Pillars snapped through two reading rooms, and the west stair arrived against a wall that had no door.
Archive staff used exterior ladders. One clerk remained trapped between shelves while the floor carried her south.
Kestrel watched from Foundry Twelve with her shoulder wrapped and three Array feeds on separate screens.
"Cairo bearing changed after the map-body died," she said. "Local rotation remains active."
Caleb lay on a rail bed inside Hall Three. Crews had built a temporary support under his shortened chest from foundry blocks and independent jacks. Nothing replaced his missing leg.
"Can I stop the archive floor?" he asked.
"Your long-span memory was in the removed third."
"Then give me what remains."
