The ship's name was Southline Eight.

Captain Halim Ota gave it before his own.

His bridge GPS showed open ocean four hundred kilometers south of Ridge.

The ship's paper chart placed them near a northern island that had sunk before the civic charter.

No coordinate gained priority.

Captain Ota gave current ship details.

The port radar had failed two days earlier. A galley refrigerator rattled every twelve seconds. The chief engineer had written a rude note on the port ballast gauge after it stuck at breakfast. A deck officer had broken one antenna light during a night inspection.

Crew cameras confirmed all four.

Southline Eight was current even when no ocean agreed where it floated.

Forty held refrigerated medicine.
