Chapter 48 - || CHAPTER 48:After All I Am His Dad ||

On Great Lord's planet, the whole planet was completely wiped clean of vitality.

Only Great Lord was standing on the planet, gazing at the entire surroundings; he had to strengthen himself.

But the aliens on this planet would be a nuisance to him, so he relocated them to another planet.

Killing them would be a disgrace to Great Lord, as they were all far too weak to even compare to him.

He said, "It's been months since my last fight. Has Lucan become much more powerful? Hahaha! I hope he has, because soon he will have to fight me."

His laughter echoed throughout the place. Great Lord looked at his hand.

A purple radiance was shining brightly in the form of a stone; it was his Pride Crystal, which he had regained instantly as soon as he left the battlefield.

Great Lord frowned as he saw the space station's missions and news.

> *"Great Lord is just 'Lord' now; his Pride Crystal has been destroyed. He is a weakling now, so we are removing his wanted poster.*

> *Lucan! This human kid is an alien who came from a nearby solar system; he is currently the strongest evil present in our world.*

> *We have to eliminate this evil and spread righteousness. Whoever captures him alive will receive an unimaginable level of rewards."*

>

What made him even angrier was that his older poster had read *WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE*, but Lucan's poster read *WANTED: ALIVE (AT YOUR OWN RISK)*.

Great Lord crushed the information device. "Am I only 'Great' because of this ugly stone? A mere stone? Then so be it—let them feel what true pride is!"

Great Lord laughed loudly as he flew toward the central space station.

At the central space station, the Supreme Head spoke, "Haha! We purposely acted weaker during that fight so they would lower their guard against us.

Now, look what happened! Our spies infiltrated the Organization—not just one or two, but ten of them! Hahaha! Those ten evil members were executed by us.

And the Organization has no clue! Hahaha! This is why the righteous path will always be the supreme path."

The surrounding aliens agreed in unison. In truth, the two who had died at the hands of the Organization members during the fight were mere illusions.

In fact, the entire space station and its alien populace were illusions; the real space station was well hidden within this solar system.

Its real location was yet to be disclosed, and its sub-space stations were also just put up for show.

That was why they had seemed so weak during most of the fights.

The space station was second only to that unknown other player; they were already on par with the Organization.

The Supreme Head spoke, "Lucan! That devil has to be either reformed into the righteous path or eradicated. What are your thoughts?"

An alien whose entire body was invisible—showing only two eyes—spoke up. His eyeballs were black, and his pupils were golden star-shapes, resembling the night sky visible from inside planets.

"That kid, Lucan... do not interfere in his matters!"

His voice resonated throughout the place. A few were surprised, a few were confused, and a few were furious.

One alien sneered, "Why? Ugh! Lord All-Seeing Sage! He is the evil who slaughtered our future generations and destroyed our past homelands! Why shouldn't we?"

The Supreme Head also hesitated. "He is right, Sage. Why shouldn't we interfere in his matters?"

Although the Supreme Head held the highest official authority among them, the All-Seeing Sage, along with eleven others, held special authority that put them on par with him.

The All-Seeing Sage laughed as he said, "Supreme Head! I understand your feelings—even I feel the same. But my deductions never yield wrong results.

My calculations indicate that we shouldn't offend Lucan in any way, not even for the smallest reason."

Almost everyone was dumbstruck, and several heated discussions broke out:

* *"Hmph! A mere C-tier kid! He's just lucky!"*

* *"Damn you, kid! Now how is this world going to uphold justice?!"*

The Supreme Head slammed the table. Everyone fell silent as he said, "Let us all listen to the Sage before discussing further! Any objections?"

Nobody objected. The Sage continued, "You know it is for a good reason. He will eventually die later, but along with him, all the evil beings will perish as well."

Hearing these words, the Supreme Head's eyes shone with a trace of satisfaction. If they just left Lucan alone for a while longer, he would die alongside all their enemies, leaving only the righteous path to exist. This had been the dream of the space station since its founding.

Many aliens began to cheer. The Sage added, "But hear me out: if any of you dare to even cross paths with Lucan..."

The Supreme Head announced, "You will be branded as evil!"

This made many of the people stumble back in shock. To be branded as evil meant they would suffer a cruel death under the guise of righteousness, rather than living grandly as a proud villain.

Everyone swore on the spot that they wouldn't even think about Lucan's name.

On Earth, at Lucan's home.

Lucan's birthday was coming up in a few days, and his mother had a gloomy expression.

Ever since the day he had gone missing, she had been like this, and Lucan's sister felt the same way.

Lucan's mother said, "If he were still with us, he would be turning 17 and bringing a girl home! But sadly, he died under mysterious circumstances."

Lucan's dad, who was drinking coffee nearby, spilled it all over himself as he forcibly suppressed his laughter.

She exclaimed, "Honey! Oh no, it was so hot! Wait, let me clean it!"

His pupils shrank. He was barely holding back his laughter; if she saw him smiling, Lucan's secret would be exposed!

He turned around quickly and said, "It is so hot! Let me go to the washroom and run my hands under cold water."

He rushed into the washroom immediately and locked the door. After confirming no one was outside, he let out his laughter. *"Lucan?... Hahaha! Him getting a girlfriend? Hahahaha! How am I even going to explain this to her?"*

A voice suddenly asked, "Why? Why can't he get one? And why are you laughing, Dad?"

Lucan's dad turned around to see his daughter. She had been cleaning the bathtub, so he hadn't noticed her sitting there.

He thought, *"Oh no! I messed up everything. Now how am I going to face Lucan?"*

He stammered, "Mary! Oh, you were in here... well, it's... it's..."

Her suspicions grew as she stood up and asked, "Is Lucan alive? Dad, please don't hide anything from us!"

He panicked internally, *"Think of a way to escape this situation! Think! Think!"*

An idea struck him. He sighed dramatically as he washed off the spilled coffee.

He spoke, "Let me tell you something. Before he died, he wrote a letter to all of us. It had a few words written at the top.

He wrote about his own personality and ambitions, and then added a line: *'Everything you've read so far was just an introduction, and Dad, only you can read this. To read my real message, it can only be done when I find the end of space and walk out of it. I will personally notify you! Please never open it!'*"

He finished, "He asked me to always stay happy, smile, and laugh continuously because he wanted me to stay strong and smile for you both. He knew you two would always be gloomy without him."

Tears welled up in his eyes as he forcibly endured the pain and offered a gentle smile.

She hugged him and cried, "If I hadn't... if I hadn't said it was impossible that day, none of this would have happened, Dad! I'm sorry!"

He replied, "It's alright. Now please, both of you need to laugh. I can't keep smiling for you forever—even I need to cry out loud and express my emotions sometimes!"

She nodded in agreement. The two walked out, and after she explained everything to her mother, Lucan's dad went upstairs.

He pumped his fist and whispered excitedly, "Yeah! I did it! Now Lucan's secret will never be exposed, hahaha! After all, my son inherited my genes. If I weren't this smart, how could he scheme like that!"
