Chapter 18 - || CHAPTER 18:The True Puppet Master ||

It was **LORD!!!**

The three of them started to panic; they never felt that Lord would trap them like this. Even Lucan had a serious expression. The blue guy thought, "Why is this so early?"

Lord started attacking them. Lucan was not even able to dodge; the red wrestler and blue guy suffered serious injuries. The blue guy quickly flew towards Lord and said, "Lord, I fulfilled your mission! I have pretended to betray you and followed him, noting everything Lucan did. Hehe!"

Lord laughed as he said, "Good, 008!"

The blue guy asked, "Lord! Please forgive my indolence! But our plan was to trap him along with this planet's leader, right? Why did you act much before that?"

Lord was slightly surprised, but he replied, "No! I have already trapped him!" He looked at Lucan as he spoke. "Kid! You are too easy to scheme against! Pathetic C-tier creature! Haha!"

He shifted his gaze towards the red wrestler as he spoke. "I am willing to forgive you all; just join me and kill Lucan."

Lucan saw him. The red wrestler spoke, "Hmm! Nope! Because staying with Lucan gives me more benefits!"

Lucan thought, *Hehe! I know. In the end, just as I expected, people's hearts bend towards benefits! But the blue guy was secretly plotting against me! I am pathetic indeed! I should have known this, hehe!* Lucan laughed as he replied, "Red wrestler! Don't worry! I won't let you die! Your strength is required for me. As long as you prove your worth, I will give you benefits too!"

But the wrestler asked with worry, "Lucan! I appreciate your words, but now can we defeat Lord? He is simply too strong!"

Lucan's grin turned wider and his eyes glowed. Suddenly, the Lord vanished. The blue guy and red wrestler were stunned; Lucan had destroyed him in one move.

The blue guy still sided with Lord. He said, "I will be loyal to Lord, even if I die! Kill me, Lucan!"

Lucan sat down as he laughed like a maniac. The injuries on everybody healed quickly. He said, "This is my test! I just wanted to find out the traitor! I doubted the red wrestler guy, but to think it was you!"

The red wrestler replied, "So it was not the real Lord? We suffered no injuries! Impressive! This technique truly deserves praise!"

The blue guy turned pale. He did not expect this was **LUCAN'S TEST** to find the traitor! He had unknowingly fallen for it. Lucan looked at the blue guy as he spoke, "No worries, I will give you one last chance!"

The blue guy replied, "Thank you for forgiv—"

His head burst open. He died on the spot, but a change occurred. Lord's aura flew out of him. Before dying, he said, "Lucan! Hehe! I truly didn't betray anyone. Here, check this informatio—"

He died.

Lucan checked him and found a shocking truth: the blue guy was forcibly controlled by Lord's technique. The red wrestler started to drop tears. His eyes turned red, matching his body. He hadn't trusted the blue guy; he had mistook him. The blue guy was actually an innocent pawn. The wrestler screamed loud enough to rupture his own and Lucan's eardrums.

Lucan didn't protect his ears; he accepted the pain. He actually failed, too. He had fallen into Lord's plan and was also trapped. He allowed this to happen to make himself remember his failure so that he would never forget it. He gritted his teeth in pain. The pain killed him both mentally and physically. He forced a grin as he spoke, "Hehe! I will never forget this failure. Lord and blue guy, thanks!"

Lucan spoke as he slowly healed himself. "The thing is, forgiveness can't be given! It has to be earned! Most people think that forgiving betrayers would make them change and make them more loyal. But the truth is, when a person decides to betray, no matter how many times, they won't change that decision; they would just change their way of betrayal! Hehe! But the blue guy was actually a pawn of Lord. Damn this Lord! He actually made the blue guy a puppet. Only at his death was the true blue guy released!"

He felt pity; after all, he was a human who still had emotions. But he quickly pushed those thoughts toward his goal. He thought, *I should persevere and be pragmatic! My goal is what truly matters!*

He continued, "You! Red wrestler, disguise yourself as the blue guy. At the right time, betray me and side with Lord. Later, we can trick him by his own methods! We will use his own weapon to attack him! Hehe! By the way, why were you so silent all this time?"

The red wrestler replied, "My own reasons! It is because—"

A bolt of lightning struck him. He collapsed, but as Lucan tried to heal him, strangely, nothing worked. The red wrestler was naturally healed by another consecutive lightning strike. He continued, "See! If I try to say anything about it, I will die! And remember, I will leave your crew after this!"

Lucan nodded his head in approval. He actually wanted to be alone; in that case, he had more freedom. He wouldn't have to fear betrayals like these, and he could concentrate much better. He only needed these aliens as his stepping stones. Now that he was getting more opportunities, why would he still keep these burdens? He asked the wrestler to take the pink girl away too, but to record her healing abilities and give those alone to him.

The red wrestler agreed as he gained the blue guy's disguise. He now had three appearances to use: his original and two disguises.

Everything turned black. Cracks appeared on the surroundings, and black patches fell away until only a white layer was left. It continued to shrink as eventually, both of them were left standing in the same market. Lucan and the red wrestler moved quietly, observing everything. Lucan asked the red wrestler to go to Lord because he was nearby.

But a sensation was hurting Lucan deeply inside. He felt as if something was wrong. He thought, *Blue guy betrayed me! So everything was not my plan! Everything was just part of Lord's plan. Sigh. WAIT, OH NO!*

He finally understood the sensation. Lucan suddenly realized his mistake in killing the blue guy. The blue guy was siding with Lord, so his death would be naturally known to Lord. Their methods would fail! He immediately rushed to that location.

The red wrestler was still there, searching for Lord. Thankfully, Lucan made it in time, or else the red wrestler would have died. He immediately left with him.

A figure was watching from the shadows—it was the real Lord! He spoke, "Oh! 008 is dead. They thought of using him to scheme against me. Lucan! You are truly worthy of being my entertainment! You finally found out this was all part of my plan! Hehe! Let's see how long you can run from me, **THE LORD!!!**"

He flew through the sky as winds rushed past him. He moved smoothly; the winds were not from the planet, but were created by Lord's own movements. Lord went near the three-sworded place and was quickly teleported inside. He met the leader of this planet. The leader's name was never revealed, but Lord knew it.

Lord spoke, "K—wait, why should I call you by your name? Hehe! Hey, you!"

The figure emerged slowly. He was the leader or head of this planet. As for his name, only Lord knew it. He spoke, "Such guts! Lord! You are too daring. Not only did you infiltrate my planet, but you also took away the mountain fragments! Now you dare to laterally step inside my house!"

Lord replied, "Haha! Be grateful I allowed you to stand and talk directly to me!"

The leader thought, *Such pride!* He called for his subordinate aliens, but no response came. Stumbled, he used his cosmic energy to deduce what happened. He found out that Lord had eliminated everyone who had the ability to fight (excluding Lucan's gang).

He gulped. He used cosmic energy to attack Lord directly. A huge white arrow emerged; it pierced through everything and struck Lord right in the head. He spat out blood. The power from the arrow made everything surrounding them kneel down—even the leader was kneeling on one leg.

But Lord stood up with immense pride. He shouted, "You think this mere arrow will make **THE LORD** kneel down?! HAHA! Wishful thinking!"
