Chapter 2 - || CHAPTER 2:Beyond Their Laughter ||

The next morning, the alarm beeped as winds rushed through the curtains. A bright glow dipped over his face.

He slowly opened his eyes to see his mom standing before him "Good morning Lu, it's time for school, wake up!"

"WHAT? IT'S ALREADY MORNING?" he asked and took the clock. it indeed was the time for school.

He had slept by midnight, so this would be the case. He thought deeply for a while. His mom asked "Lu, are you alright?" She checked his temperature with her hands.

She asked "No fever, Lu, are you tired? Want to skip school?" She could see the tiredness in his eyes; his reaction confirmed it.

He replied "No, no, I am alright, Just a bad dream. I will go get ready right now." She smiled "Alright, I will go downstairs and prepare your breakfast".

He thought "Damn it, I should have slept earlier, but still, I can make it in time".

In the dining room, his dad was drinking coffee.

Marie was also eating her breakfast. Her mother came in as Marie asked "Mom, is Lucan alright? I hope he is still not mad at me".

She replied "No, he seems normal, but he said he didn't sleep well", Marie felt relieved, but she asked "Did not sleep well?"

"A bad dream, he said," she replied. Marie asked "A bad dream? Will he be alright?". Her dad said "I too had such bad dreams, but don't worry, he will gradually forget it."

Lucan came down as he said "Sorry, everybody. Please forgive me, I was rude yesterday!"

They all smiled gently and comforted him. He grabbed a toast, as he stuffed it into his mouth and gobbled it. He waved a bye and left for school.

His dad asked "Lucan, your goal! It is indeed awesome, but...promise me that you will succeed!" and chuckled. His eyes widened, and lips curled up "Sure, but now it's time for school".

It was close, so he just went by walk. He went to his class and sat down. Aric and the others saw him but said nothing.

The teacher came as she said "Today we will be discussing your goals one by one!" Lucan's eyes glowed and he grinned widely.

"I will become an astronaut and fight aliens".

"I will become a superhero who brings justice!"...

It was Lucan's turn. He stood up from his desk. After a moment of silence he said "I am going to find the end of space and the truth beyond everything!".

A wave of silence flowed throughout the classroom. Soon, they turned into laughters.

Lucan felt the same wrath he felt at home; however, he did not react this time. He quietly sat down and turned his gaze away.

When the laughters ceased, the teacher said "Well Lucan, your goal... hmm, how do I put it? It's actually impossible, you will learn about it eventually."

There was a nerd in the class who was also part of Aric's gang, he said "You, are you even serious? Space is infinite with no ends, dumb kid! Stupid fool!"

The teacher said "Alright, alright, now let us return to our discussion". Later, when school was over, Lucan was packing his bag as usual. He stayed silent the entire time after their laughters, not uttering a single word.

The nerd stimulated Aric, as they both went to Lucan and bullied him. He didn't respond, quietly packing his bags.

Lana said "Stop it! You two, we all make mistakes. He just wasn't aware of the fact; you can't bully him."

Aric realized his mistake as he apologized and went back, but the nerd didn't give up. He didn't stop his insults.

Aric smacked him on the head and took him away. He even asked him to apologize, but he refused. Lucan was about to leave.

but he grinned "It's alright, I don't care about it, because one day when I find the end of space and go beyond it, you will all be insignificant to me. Haha, wait until it's my time".

Everyone remained quiet, Lucan walked away, he said "Now I am only 11, In 5 more years, I will make ample preparations and leave the Earth."

Lucan spent the next five years studying and learning many more things related to space. While other teenagers enjoyed their youth, he buried himself in books and knowledge.

Five years later, Lucan was standing at the top of a cliff gazing at the night sky, He had a bag on his shoulder. He took a telescope, a radar, and a few other pieces of equipment.

He said "Alright, now using all these, I have to make a signal which will reach aliens. They might sense it. Once they respond and come here, I can leave Earth. Only danger is, I might die if I attract any dangerous ones. Let's hope we get the right one".

He made a unique device; it echoed a loud signal with an ear-piercing frequency. It cannot be heard through normal ears. He activated it and ran far behind to hide in a bush.

The signal emerged from it; it traveled like a wave in the ocean and flew outside the Earth. It spread far, far away, reaching long distances.

Many space organizations also detected this signal. They tried to decode the signal, but it was loud enough to rampage equipment.

Alarmed by the danger, they immediately cut it off. One of them said "We have to find it—who sent this signal? It definitely came from within Earth."

Another one said "So the culprit is here. Everyone, we must find him."

In space, a group of aliens were traveling in their spaceship. One of them was a small bluish creature; its body was full of scales and many unique pieces of equipment.

It said "All of you, see there. That primitive ball of mud and water is called Earth." Everyone's gaze crept over it.

Another one responded "Aren't those species called Hoomanz?" It was tall and lean, in a greenish-grey color, with a hard-to-describe appearance.

The blue one said "Hoomanz? No, they are called humans. Wait, let me check about them."

It took a small silver button-like object. With a tap, a voice came with a beep sound "What information do you want to know?"

He said "Humans." Immediately a screen appeared; it had tons and tons of knowledge.

It quickly was transformed into a bead; it entered his mind. All this took place within a few seconds.

He said "They are C-tier species. They have the strongest abilities in terms of evolving, advancing, and adapting. However, their only greatest issue is themselves. In a few thousand years, they will be extinct because of their own actions. Their potential could have produced them in B-tier at most..."
