Chapter 1 - Introduction

At twenty-six, Iris has reached the destination she once thought was invisible. With a permanent job and a life built on her own terms, she has finally outrun the echoes of those who called her "ugly" and "incapable." But to truly celebrate where she is standing, she knows she must first look back at where she fell.

As the evening light fades in her office, Iris opens an old drawer. She pulls out a small, weathered photograph—a picture of herself as a young girl. In the photo, her eyes are downcast, her shoulders hunched as if trying to hide from the world.

She gazes at that image, and the reminiscence begins. She doesn't just see a child; she sees the battlefield she survived. She remembers the stinging comments from relatives who compared her harshly to her mother and sister. She remembers the mocking laughter that followed her through school hallways and the heavy, silent house after her mother passed away.

"You were wrong," she whispers to the ghosts of those who belittled her. "I was never what you said I was."

With a steady hand, Iris sets the photo on her desk. This is the moment she stops being a character in other people's cruel stories and starts being the author of her own. She is ready to depict her journey—not as a victim, but as a victor.

She begins to recount how she navigated those "sad moments" when she didn't have anything and how she found the strength to keep walking when the path was nothing but thorns. She is going to tell the story of how she took the "ugly" labels they gave her and forged them into a shield of resilience.

As she looks back at those first, dark days, she does so with a heart full of pride and a soul that has finally healed. The "better version" of Iris is ready to speak.

I was born as an ugly child in our family. So everyone called me with weird names . They mocked me because of my looks and stupidity. At that time I couldn't understand what's wrong with them . It's not like I chose to born like that . My sister was really beautiful and so my mother. So whenever I went outside with them , everyone laughed at me and I felt so inferior to them . I couldn't even imagine how everything will change like a dream .

In my high school, my classmate always bullied me and belittled me because of my meek personality. After coming home I cried a lot in front of my mother and she comforted me . At that time I survived and had the courage of going my school again because of my mother. Then one day I decided to change myself . So day by day I tried my best to fight against them . It was really hard to change my character but it felt better than before. It was a great experience. After that they didn't dare to bully me again . Life was going well but it was just my imagination. There was more misfortunes waiting for me but at that time I didn't have any idea.
